My favourite thing this shop has to offer are the beautiful wooden toys and puzzles, I have bought several over the past couple of years along with some fantastic fair trade chocolate (which I would certainly recommend) and some lovely jewellery too.

This is one of my favourite shops in Hay on Wye as it has a fab selection of interesting and varied items for sale. I totally love carrots so bought a few carrot inspired items, a few beautiful handmade brooches and received an I love Carrots badge from the owner.. totally random but I loved it.
Great that they are all sourced fair trade, I have been in many fair trade shops and some are nowhere near as tastefully done as this so well done to the owner (who is very friendly and also made an excellent intro host to the author event we attended at The Globe) :o)
We will definitely visit again!

I kind of stumbled upon this place on a recent visit to Hay-on-Wye. Tucked away from the
main shopping area it is easy to miss, which might seem to be a great pity, as it is one of the more interesting, and ,indeed, inspiring retail premises in the town. I spent the best part of an hour just browsing through the plethora of "fair trade" goods, before buying some outrageously coloured, bamboo socks for a friend....and very nice they are on too.
The wares are too varied to detail, but the book collection I would have purchased in its entiriety, which is why I feel compelled to make my return there!

This is a lovely shop with an interesting range of products, all ethically sourced and produced. What really stands out is the friendly and helpful customer service. I was visiting the area, and had cause to contact the shop once I was back in London. The situation was resolved really quickly and extremely nicely. Definitely worth a visit.

A lovely shop full of ethically sourced items, ranging from children's toys to vegan chocolate, from clothing to tableware, from books to artwork. Lovely owner who was clearly passionate about the shop and the ethics behind it. Everything was priced fairly and we came away with a selection of goods.

Lovely afternoon spent in Hay on Wye, browsing the shops, walking and having a general look around. Drawn into the shop by the colourful window display and assortment of products. Inside the shop great selection of gifts from around the world and the lady was very helpful, chatty and friendly.

We popped into Eighteen Rabbit during a recent visit to Hay. We browsed the selection of literature, clothing, craft and chocolate from around the world. However the shop owner was a highlight when I asked after the significance of the name. I won't spoil it, as you should ask yourself! A very friendly shopping experience following which we came away with socks and coffee - an unusual but pleasing combo!

This little boutique is a gem. In my experience, it's rare to find a fair trade shop, which is so well designed, and has such desirable products. I wanted many things, not (just) because buying them supported good causes, but because the product range was beautiful. Great friendly staff. I hope this business thrives!!
