Lovely national trust place. The volunteers were very knowledgeable and approachable. Due to my mobility issues I didn't really want to walk up the stairs so they got me a book so I could read and see everything that was on the upper levels. The staircase isn't actually that steep. I was just having a bad leg day. I really liked how much information there was on sir Isaac Newton and there was quite a lot of interactive science stuff which I think was aimed at children but my boyfriend and I are 40 and enjoyed playing with them too.

A very nice little museum dedicated to Sir Isaac Newton. there is a brief film at the start of the visit to the house. It doesn't take very long to go around the house itself. There are staff in the house who are very knowledgeable and like to chat to you. In a barn are some interactive things to do. Great for adult and children. there is also a tea room and toilets on site.

On my drive back to Northampton from Lincoln I made a lengthy detour to visit this National Trust Manor. The sun was shining with blue skies with most of the earlier snow melted. The paths around the manor were all clear of snow.
So why was this tourist attraction closed and a sign on the gate saying closed to help staff and visitors. Utter nonsense. Is this why we pay to be members and staff decide to have a day or two off??? National Trust as it is are open far less than English Heritage. I wonder whether it is now worthwhile being a member.

Interesting stop on A1. Loved the apple tree and farmhouse. Staff friendly, only 4 stars as possibly the worst national trust scones I’ve ever had, and I’ve had plenty. Cafe food otherwise okay.

Absolutely worth the visit! Our tour was hosted by Clive the guide who made the facts about this house and Sir Isaac Newton just come to life. As non scientific people we quickly became immersed in the story and shared in the brilliance of Newton’s discovery. We also visited the science centre for some further informative and easy to understand explanations of Newton’s theories. Thanks Clive for a really interesting and informative tour

Sir Isaac Newton was born here, where he also grew up. We went there out of curiosity. Even though many of the furnishings weren't the originals, they helped you get a sense of his way of life. Our family learns about Isaac Newton in school, but going to see where he was born is something else entirely. It brought history to life.

A small property and not too much to see but a lovely story and guided tour of the house. Interesting displays and experiments in the barn at the back.
Worth a visit if you are an NT member and passing but not a day out. You need to book in advance as the house is by tour only and places are limited.

We stopped here as we travelled North up the A1. Fantastic place, and very interesting. Super engaging volunteers in the house! 100% recommend.

I'm not a fan of guided tours usually, mainly because I find standing for extended times, difficult. However, the lady that showed our group around was excellent and really made Newton, the person, come to life. There was a chair in each room so that I could remain seated. The Manor itself is impressive as are the exhibitions in the adjacent farm building, which clearly the younger children were enjoying. I liked the way that the social history side, provided by the guide's extensive knowledge, was separated from the scientific side in the barn. As someone who is not quite so interested in scientific research, I was pleased that this aspect was not foisted on visitors, although volunteers were available to assist those that are.

Hi,
The number 28 bus goes from Grantham to the village although it’s not a really frequent service.
Tickets can be reserved online or via phone for when it reopens from 9th March. Go to the Woolsthorpe Manor National Trust website and tickets can be reserved on there, and you can pay on arrival.
National Trust members go free.

Best to ring them before setting off. We went earlier this year and they had guided tours. They might have more going on as Summer approaches but always best to ring ahead and check.

Yes there is a taxi outside of the station but it will cost approximately £20 from Grantham to the manor. Get a bus if you can as the bus station is walking distance from the train station.
