A beautiful building purpose built for music. I have been to music events here many times but this time I went on the building tour. It was very interesting, the guides were very knowledgable and we saw areas the public don’t usually have access to. The highlight was watching the orchestra rehearse.

Went to see Late night Proms . There were 2 jazz artists both if which had never heard of before and it was first time at the Sage too . Fabulous venue - we were in smaller hall which was full and although it’s not Ronnie Scott’s ( it was a lot cheaper ) both artists were simply brilliant - so much so ended up downloading playlist onto Spotify and the BBC recording too .

Brilliant venue. Great atmosphere catering views concert hall. Sar Bonnie Raitt on tour - stellar gig - sound is fantastic. Great piece of modern architecture.

The Sage definitely impressed us a venue, the entrance areas, walkways and entertainment areas were spacious and immaculately clean.
The staff kept the place well organised, welcoming and helpful.
We visited to see The Diana Ross Story and the seating was great with plenty of room. The stage, lighting and sound quality was excellent. (The show itself was much better second half after the interval).
The price of drinks are extortionate, even water in small cardboard containers were ridiculously priced. The only negative on an otherwise very enjoyable night.

The Motown show last night was amazing. Unfortunately it was spoilt by the extortionate drink prices ,so please beware. One bottle of wine and 3 soft drinks £42 . Absolutely unbelievable

At Sage Gateshead to see a band and thought we’d have a drink before the show started. I had a 175ml glass of red wine and my husband a half pint of Blue Moon. It came to £11.36! We queried the cost as it seemed extortionately large for what we ordered and we’re told the glass of wine was £8.50! We were staying in a four star hotel across the river which only charged £5.60 for the same! Absolute extortion! Think we’ll be drinking elsewhere before we go to the Sage next time!

We recently visited the Sage to see KT Tunstall. Easy walk from nearby hotels. Had a drink before the show, hubby said beer was good. So was my cider. Unsure of the price!
We were sat on level 3 , 2nd row from the front on the upper tier. Seats were fairly comfy allowing for an interval break, but not much legroom therefore the legs suffered! Near the end of the show some people on the 1st row stood up, which made it so every one behind couldn’t see a thing!
The ice cream during the interval was nice, but £3.50 for a small tub was very expensive!!
Overall we enjoyed our evening, and the seats were less crammed together than they are at the nearby arena.
Would return for future events, but maybe I’ll skip the ice cream! 🍦🍨

As a long life lover of all thing's musical (thanks to my beloved late Mam)... My daughter got us tickets for last night's performance of Rogers and Hammerstein.
Our seats were on Stage 1 - Level 2 on the end. Absolutely perfect. You make allowances for people up & down out of their seats (some people just can't sit still)..
From start to finish I thought the whole performance was outstanding..
The Orchestra, the 4 singer's, the conductor all absolutely brilliant.
After reading Annie 99942 review it's such a shame that her night was tarnished by ignorant and selfish people around her..

Our first trip back to the Sage post Covid. We were so looking forward to it. We used to be Friends of the Sage so we are very experienced concert goers, Last night’s performance of Rogers and Hammerstein classics was absolutely ruined for me by people in the audience singing along. We paid a lot of money to hear a wonderful orchestra and four of the best vocalists in the country but all I could hear was the catlike screeching of a woman two seats along from me. We moved seats in the interval, to poorer seats, but could still hear people singing along. Everyone in that auditorium knew the words to the songs but we didn’t all belt them out- this was due to consideration for other people. The Sage needs to ask at the beginning of the concert that people refrain from joining in, this was not meant to be a sing along.

Booked a table whilst visiting to see Mogwai it's a set three course menu with 3 choices at £32 a pop, the starters of mussels and mushroom kebab were nice as we're the desserts of black cherry torte and mango mousse ( although my partner said it was low on mango used),
We had ordered the reasonably priced at £23 bottle of merlot ,it was like vinegar a really Nasty vino ,stay away
But as for the main dish it was a really shocker we complained that the steak had not been rested and was oozing blood onto the board and was tough as old boots so tough I nearly chocked and had to regurgitate the piece back out on to the plate we had complained to the waitress who sent I assume the manager ,he asked what the problem was and my wife explained at length after having to leave the steak ,how and why the steak was wrong he just sort of stared at us and at the end asked us if there was anything else we wanted ?a coffee ...I jokingly answered was it on the house he gave us a look like we were criminals ,very unjustly in my estimation because if he had been listening to my partner he would have been able to pass on how to cook a steak properly because the chef could,nt, the managers response just made things worse,.
We have eaten and enjoyed our meals taken here previously, but I,m sorry to say we won,t be back

Hi, you can park in the car park next to Gateshead Old Town Hall, across the A167 from Sage Gateshead. It’s certainly free after 6.30 (possibly after 6, so you’d only have to pay for 30 minutes at most). It’s 5 minutes walk from Sage.

Hi,
I m looking at buying tickets for Anton and Erin dance tour, can anyone tell me if level one tickets would be ok? There are some row 4 on left side and some middle row 14 would these be ok ?

Hi. We went to see Neil Sedaka . Our seats were row 5 six seats in on the right. Wonderful seats. I think the way the sage is designed means there really are no bad seats

Would the front row of the stalls be suitable for children to sit to watch the snowman performance or would it be too close to the screen?

Hi, The screen is at the back of the stage so it's not the same as sitting in the front row at the pictures. However, you may get a better view of the screen by sitting further back. Many thanks,

All seats in Sage One offer a great view of the stage, however, level 3 is the furthest away. You can find out more and view an image gallery on our website.

Just realised your question hadn't been answered. There's a restaurant in the Sage that sells proper sit down waitress service meals, and I believe there's a cafe as well! Not sure if there's anything else though.
