Everything about the Big Blue Surf School was amazing. I hadn't surfed for years so I was practically a beginner again. My lesson with Logan was excellent, he was very patient and engaging with me and the rest of the group and it was thoroughly worth it.
Cyril, Logan and Oscar were all brilliant towards me and having had one lesson to learn the ropes, I decided to hire a wetsuit and board on five other occasions during my stay in Bude, it was great fun to say the very least.
What I loved about the lesson is we were also taught how to properly warm up before we went surfing, along with other important safety aspects such as how to spot rip tides and how to choose where we should and shouldn't be surfing - it was a fully comprehensive lesson, it was a massive help and I think it gave us all in the group a lot more confidence for when we were in the water.
Overall, the service was highly positive in every aspect, everyone I came across contributed towards me having a great experience and it's safe to say that I have caught the surfing bug again! Many thanks to you all, I shall definitely be back when I next come to Bude.

We had an amazing time learning to surf with the Big Blue Surf School. We were all beginners and already managed to surf some waves in the first lesson. All staff members were super friendly and still recognised and acknowledged us in the days after our lessons.
After our lessons, we just hired the boards from the surf school, which was located on the car park next to the beach, so not far to walk. They were reasonably priced.
We would definitely recommend the surf school!

I spotted a sign for "adsurf, accessible surfing" as we were leaving a busy carpark at summerleaze beach in bude. I emailed that night and by the next day arrangements were made for me to be able to come along and have an accessible surfing lesson. Surfing had been on my bucket list for ages but i wrote it off as something id never be able to do with my level of strength and the way my disabilities affect me. I was so nervous when I arrived but I was put at ease really quickly, everything was explained to me and they checked in with me regularly to make sure I was happy and comfortable. By the end I rode a wave solo and made the best memories which will stay with me forever. I can't wait to go back and do it all again! Thankyou so much!

Three lessons on three consecutive days, great instructors, lovely to talk to and a great school for future lessons. This was a birthday present for my 22 year old so, who was up on the board in on the first lesson. I cannot recommend this company enough. When booking they told me to hold off for a couple weeks as the sea was quite flat and not suitable for surfing. A big thank you to the Big Blue Surf School.

I went to my first lesson having never surfed before and not expecting to even stand up. I was amazed how much I was able to learn, thanks to the inspiring teacher Dylan. After 2 lessons I was addicted to the fun of it and confident enough to rent gear for 3 more days and go to the sea on my own. I’m so thankful for this new skill I never thought I could have🏄♀️👌🏻

Really well run family business. The instructors were attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable. On a visit to Cornwall for October half term they managed to get a 10, 13 and 55 year old standing on their boards after one lesson - smiles and happy memories all round. Highly recommend Big Blue - a really lovely bunch.

We have just returned from our family holiday in Cornwall and the highlight, without any doubt were the two surfing lessons our two sons (Euan, aged 14 and Callum, aged 12) attended at Big Blue Surf School. Our family needs are unique as Callum is autistic, epileptic, non verbal with profound learning difficulties, therefore we required a specialised adaptive lesson, whilst Euan is able to attend the public lesson.
After much searching on the internet, Big Blue Surf seemed to be able to meet our needs and I sent an enquiry email. Within an hour, Gill called to gain an in-depth understanding of Callum's needs and immediately confirmed Cyril would definitely be able to ensure Callum enjoyed a successful time surfing. Gill was also intuitively empathetic to meeting Euan's needs at the same time and understood the importance of both of the boys enjoying an activity at the same time. From the word go, there were no barriers and we all felt excited about the prospect.
Our experience was special and exceeded our expectations. Cyril and the team provide a truly inclusive experience where there are no barriers. Callum was valued and as a result he thrived under their instruction and care. Euan also learnt to surf in a lesson and absolutely loved it! Trying to summarise the impact of our experience with words is tricky,

Very impressed with the experience our teen (13 and 15) daughters had with Big Blue Surf School yesterday. Friendly and welcoming as soon as we arrived. Took care to ensure thermal rash vest provided for 13yo who gets very cold very quickly. Clear on beach instruction given, but no time wasted before they went into the waves. Then the instructors worked hard constantly going between different members of the group giving guidance and help. They were really positive and encouraging. Highly recommend.

Second time we've used BB. Consistently personable and professional for novices of all ages. Well brought up, well-mannered post teens restoring faith in youth culture by being decent, efficient and customer focused. We all gave our experience five stars.
