Excellent tour guide who was incredibly knowledgeable. Well worth the price, wouldn't hesitate to recommend this experience to other people.

Had a fantastic visit here yesterday my partner is from Wellingborough Northampton I live in Stoke on Trent , everyone was lovely especially the lovely gentleman and his partner who sold us the tickets to go down into the mine sorry we should have got your names I was to scared to go into the mine but what a lovely chat I had with this gentleman, but going back to my partner and sons visit down the mine they absolutely loved it and also the gentleman that completed the tour with them..would definitely recommend a visit all ran by dedicated volunteers keep up the fab work all of you and see you soon for the monthly visit down the mine not for me though LOL

I walk this country park many times each year but have seen signs for the future that concern me. At the top end not far from the top Black Bank car park the track rises to an excellent viewpoint, which has been advertised on leaflets. There are trees in the area from the fence downwards growing in the Lapwing Paddock which will eventually block out this view, so I would urge the authorities to get them cut out.
Already near the Blue Wheel, trees have blocked out the once interesting views that used to be obtained through the holes in the standing planks of wood.
These are two significant features of the park that need to be maintained; viewpoints provide not only an excellent attraction for visitors but have a calming effect on people and make a major contribution to people's mental health.

WE all went as a family yesterday and had a great day. On arrival we all went into the restaurant for a great breakfast and couldn't believe the great value for money and the huge portions. After breakfast the mine tour began and we joined Roger to get all the helmets and lights etc ready to descend into the mine. What a great experience and Roger was so funny and knowledgeable about all thing to do with the mine. After an hour we ascended back into daylight and straight onto the steam train. What a great day and everyone was so friendly and helpful.
There is also a longer mine tour that we hope to do before the end of the school holidays so Roger we will be back

excellent place to visit, all the volunteers are very friendly, the food is reasonably priced & delicious, the museum is well worth a visit with guides available on saturdays, theres also a gift shop and disabled friendly toilets, the mine tours are amazing, taken down by ex miners who share their knowledge & experiences with you, id highly reccommed visiting, theres also a mini steam railway and mock up ww1 trenches along with beauitiful country walks , 10/10

Couldn’t get into the park due to height restrictions on entry (6ft 6inches barrier) we were in a pop top camper van. We were stopping by as a break from a journey from the Lakes back to Cirencester with our 2 year old for a run around and to see the railway. But we arrived and the height barrier was still in place and locked. Such a disappointment. So please note if you are in a camper- don’t take the time out to come.

You'll love this country park operated by Staffordshire County Council. Free car parks and toilet facilities available. Range of walks covering selection of distances. Hilly site. Popular the dog walkers. Well worth a visit to Apedale Heritage Centre which shares the site.

We were lucky enough to get a tour of the coal mine last weekend.it was really interesting and made all the more enjoyable by the two great guides Charlie and rob because both of them were former miners we will definitely try and go back again when we are up that way again thanks for a great tour boys

A pleasant set of ladies cooking and serving good basic local food, and the price is right. All the ladies working there are volunteers so are not paid as this is a charity museum bot a coal mine, heritage railway and country park.

We arranged to go for a walk with group from work. Never been here before. Lovely place lots different pathways to choose, we followed bridle path. The area and views are beautiful. There is small railway and visitors centre here we didn't go on or use them. Had lovely morning walk
