I won’t give too much away, I don’t want to spoil the experience for anyone else. But I can promise you will have an amazing time.
The cookery school is in a beautiful location. The converted barn is well equipped, very clean and the layout is perfect!
John and his team are very welcoming and friendly. We got to learn new skills and we created some very delicious bakes! Recommend for any skill level, it was a really enjoyable experience and I cannot wait to book again! Thanks John, Paul and Gary!

MInteresting place to look around in Wigan that is not football or pies or shops though pies are tasty

We did the festive afternoon tea class and loved every minute. After a warm welcome, a slice of cake and a coffee, we set about making 3 different types of glorious cake. John demonstrated each step and everything was measured out, ready to use. We sat down to eat around 2 o’clock, with our own cakes packaged up ready to take home. The cakes are amazing and we have the recipe packs to be able to make them again at home.
I would 100% recommend John’s kitchen and we will definitely be booking again! The facilities are fantastic and the whole day was relaxed and informal. Loved it.

Had the best day learning 3 recipes for Afternoon Tea cakes and John demo'd a fourth. The day was warm, welcoming fun, relaxed and well paced. John is a wonderful teacher, patient and funny and able to relay his expertise and experience simply. I would have stared longingly at the recipes we learned before deciding they were too advanced for me - pastry, caramel and piping all in 1 recipe, eek. However John walking through them step by step has given me lots of new techniques and most importantly confidence. Gary and Paul, supporting with the day are also lovely.
Gorgeous place, wonderful people, oh and prosecco to go with the finished treats, I can't wait to go again.

This was my birthday present from 2 years ago. It was an amazing day being greeted with pumpkin bread and hot drinks. Baked 3 different bakes and brought them home for friends and family to try and they loved them. Would definitely recommend as it is an amazing day and we all had lots of fun with John and his kitchen aids Paul and Gary.

We had an absolutely fantastic day with John and Paul baking some great food and enjoying some great company. From the minute we walked in, the atmosphere was relaxed and we were welcomed with coffee and homemade scones. The day was paced really well; we learned three recipes which took the day and I learnt plenty of new skills - by the end of the day I had so much to take home with me. Lunch was amazing too - home made mac and cheese! Would recommend to anyone who loves baking or would like to try baking for the first time. We will definitely be back again to try another class in the future.

We had a fantastic day here - the recipes that we baked along with were amazing, as well as the super tasty breakfast and lunch. I've done a bit of baking before (far from what I'd consider experienced) but the day was paced really well to follow along whilst learning plenty of new techniques and ideas for future bakes.
John and Paul were great throughout, and made the whole day really enjoyable. I'd definitely recommend to anyone that enjoys baking!

Went for my second class with John at the weekend and it was just as wonderful as first time round. I attempted things I would never have the confidence to do at home and came away with lots of new skills as well as plenty of delicious baking. John is a brilliant teacher and we had loads of laughs in such a fun, relaxed setting. I'll definitely be back again and would recommend to anyone who is considering it - you won't regret it!

Just back from a completely fabulous two day baking course with John Whaite making modern cakes. Brilliant fun, lots of baking, lovely lunch. John is a brilliant teacher, funny and approachable. Absolutely recommended for anyone who wants to have fun with friends and end up baking something you could never imagine you were capable of. Could not recommend John’s course more highly. Thank you xxx

A wonderful day spent with John and his family baking. The whole experience from beginning to end was an utter pleasure. We received a warm welcome and a home made scone and tea which was delicious before commencing with our baking. We made three different desserts which we took home. Mid way through we got to try a delicious slice of cake made by John. We finished off with a delicious lunch and a chance to taste everything made.
It was really a fantastic experience and John and his family were just lovely.
I highly recommend.
