Lovely hidden gem. Youngsters and adults alike spend a couple of happy hours here exploring and generally having a lovely time. Highly recommend for inquisitive young minds (and not so young minds)

My daughter was most distressed when she lost her bag and phone on a visit to Bodmin but was delighted that the staff found them at the museum and returned them.

Took grandson with a friend and her grandson for a visit, they certainly enjoyed themselves playing with all the interactive displays.
The staff are amazing, so caring & intuitive, nothing seemed too much
trouble.
Not the easiest place to find to be honest, certainly not well signed until you are right on top of the car park. Basically look for the play area (left hand side) of main road, turn left at the weird roundabout just passed Lidl then left again into the car park.
You get timed admission, which makes perfect sense as it’s not very big but once you are in so many different things to play with.
You end up in the little cafe area, where you can make your own Mocktails- kids thought that was great.
Was it worth the admission price of £12 (1 adult 1child) YES
Mocktails are £4.50 each
Sure grandson would love to return

My son absolutely loves this place, This is the third time we've gone. The staff are absolutely lovely and always happy to help. It's really interactive and a good sensory experience.

We took our 3 year old grand daughter to Discovering42 at Bodmin after coming across the staff at a Reach for the Skies event at RNAS Culdrose. It's easy to find and right next to a big play outdoor play area. We were welcomed in and given an explanatory talk about how to interact with the exhibits. Indie (our grand daughter) ran straight in, and started to play. She loved everything from making rainbow shadows, playing the piano to experimenting with the marble run. Everything can be played with at your own level so my husband and I also enjoyed the hands on experience. We spent about an hour in the museum and then enjoyed a 'magic' mocktail (rainbow style) in the cafe. Indie really thought it was a magic potion! The staff were so friendly and happy to chat. Also lots of toys to play with whilst we drank our coffee! We'll definitely be going again. Picnic in the park followed!

I went to Discovering42 with my 8yr old granddaughter. It was very easy to find. I was a little anxious about travelling on public transport (train and bus to get there) but there was no hiccups at all.
It's a small but perfectly formed "hands on" science museum within Priory Park, Bodmin. We spent nearly two hours there, trying out all the exhibits. We had a really fun time, and have come away with ideas on how to make similar contraptions at home - it sparks the imagination.
We finished off by making our own mocktails in test tubes (extra cost to the admission) and Sat in the querky cafe overlooking the park. I am looking forward to seeing what they are going to do when they add more stuff and introduce special club / events days.

The experience was a bit of a mixed bag really. There were some intresting things but not all worked properly which made it a little disappointing. Such as the copper and potato game the wires kept coming loose and falling off. Also it would be nice if there was an explanation of how some of the things work to learn why things did what they did so children and adults learn the science behind the activity. It just needs a little attention to detail and someone constantly checking things do work as they should so families get the full experience which can be quite immersive.

An amazing place for all the family. Grandad enjoyed it as much as the the young grandchildren.
