Helpful friendly information staff.
Pick up a swipe card for $8 for entry into visitor attractions, along with interesting videos/holograms about the places or people. Follow the sealed path around town linking the sights. The only negative is the closed cafe attached… but coffee, etc and tables to sit at are available at the roadhouse.

The staff are so friendly and willing to have a chat. Lots of information about surrounding areas. The self guidedtours of historical sites is well worth the very minimal fee.

Staff at the centre were very friendly and helpful. Explained the town attractions and even provided maps and brochures for further afield

The staff are outstanding. The quality and quantity of information available is excellent. The staff not only know their district well, but go to some lengths to stay right up-to-date with things like road conditions to surrounding areas

The lady behind the desk here could not have been more helpful. A lovely venue with an attached cafe: was not open at the time we visited.

A great little visitor centre. Plenty if local goods and souvenirs. Good stocks of maps and information on the area

The women who work there are incredibly helpful. They spent a lot of time helping us regarding road conditions - over and over! They've also developed an amazing heritage trail, including hologram ghosts in the historic hospital.

Info centre staff cheery and welcoming. We got an electronic entry card ($10 each) which gave 24hr access (!) to the old gaol , historic Leahy house, early hydro electric plant and the old hospital - lots of interesting artefacts and extensive AV displays. We enjoyed a 5 km walk on meandering flat paved paths (with solar lights if you wish to walk at dusk or dawn) beside the Bulloo river and through the town, passing all the attractions. Well done Thargomindah, population 270! Alas coffee shop is closed down, but a beer at the pub was a good substitute on our way back.

Great ladies, really helpful with our tickets to visit the jail, the hospital and the museum. they even replaced mine when I lost it, without making me feel foolish.

Best visitors centre we visited on our trip. Provided more useful information than I expected. Headed off with the card that gets you into all the interesting spots.
