Achtung Abzocke! Wir wurden gestern von unserem Taxi-Fahrer zu diesem Weingut gelotst, der es als kleines familiäres Weingut mit dem besten Wein im Chianti-Gebiet beschrieb. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen, das Ambiente war schön, auch wenn es offensichtlich sehr auf Besucher aus den USA ausgerichtet war (US-Flagge als Deko, Bilder mit vermeintlich bekannten US-Besuchern) an den Wänden. Erst wurde uns die Balsamico-Herstellung erklärt und wir durften unter anderem einen 30 Jahre alten Balsamico verkosten. Danach ging es zur Weinprobe (3 Rotweine). Dazu wurden kleine Häppchen gereicht, u.a. Brot mit (hauseigenem) Olivenöl. Es wurde immer reichlich Wein nachgeschenkt. Der Sommelier redete und redete, ein Charity-Afrika Projekt wurde vorgestellt, inkl. Foto-Dokumentation, das mit einem Teil des Verkaufserlös der großen „Magnificient“Flasche (soll etwas ganz besonderes sein) unterstützt wird. Das Ganze erinnert im Nachhinein an eine Verkaufsveranstaltung der Marke „Kaffee-Fahrt“. Erst als die Zettel zur Aufgabe der Bestellung verteilt wurden war klar, was der Wein kostet: 47,-€ der „günstige“ Chianti Classico DOCG, bis zu 80,-€ der „bessere“ Merlot. Aber immerhin Versand - egal in welches Land - inkludiert… Erst dann wurde uns auch mitgeteilt, dass die Probe inkl. Häppchen 30,-€ pro Person kostet. Trotz Weinbestellung, die wir da bereits aufgegeben hatten (im Nachhinein wohl ein Fehler). Wir konnten dann den Preis für die Probe noch auf 20,-€ pro Person herunter handeln und weil man wohl merkte, dass wir „not amused“ waren, haben wir dann noch eine Flasche des Merlot (den wir vorher für 80,-€ pro Flasche bestellt hatten) sowie ein Glas mit eingelegtem Knoblauch geschenkt bekommen. Man wollte uns wohl besänftigen und wie sie sagten „with a smile“ vom Hof fahren sehen. Unter dem Strich bleibt dennoch ein ungutes Gefühl von Abzocke und wir sind gespannt, ob wir den Wein tatsächlich per Post erhalten werden.

A magnificent lunch and wine tasting. The food was exceptional and the Super Tuscan wine was an adventure in flavor. Can not recommend enough.

Absolutely Amazing. An experience you’ll never forget.

My family of 7 were blessed to be able to enjoy Sant Agnese Farm and the incredible people over there. Carlo was absolutely spectacular at leading the tour of their beautiful winery. The owners were the absolute sweetest as well and truly made you feel welcome. Not to mention, they are AMAZING chefs. All in all, this is a memory I will look back on for the rest of my life. We will be shipping wine from here to the states for years to come.

Amazing Experience!

We went for lunch and wine tasting plus a tour of vineyard. The owners were so nice. Loria, Alessandro and Carlo made us feel like family. One of our favorite days of our Italian adventure. Delicious wine and lunch with indescribable views.

Exceptional visit and lunch

At Sant Agnese Farm we were treated to a splendid lunch paired with their excellent wines. The lunch was a wonderful assortment of bruschetta, mouth watering lasagna and a lovely dessert. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by Carlo who gave us a tour of the property and then escorted us to the delightful dining room for lunch. Our hosts, Alessandro and Loria, were absolutely charming and they shared with us their experiences doing charitable visits to Africa.

This visit was truly a highlight of our trip to Italy and we look forward to returning again. Thank you again, Carlo, Alessandro and Loria for an exceptional visit and lunch.

Wow. Wow. Wow. We were referred to this place by good friends we have traveled with before. They know what we like and our style. This place didn’t miss at all! Carlo, Alessandro, and gloria were nicer than can be. Endless food and wine. Literally. Been all over the world and states drinking wine, including four times in Tuscany and I don’t think we’ve ever had a better (or longer lol) tasting. These people take pride in what they do and it shows. Amazing time and highly recommended.

Unforgettable Honeymoon Stop!!

To say this experience was amazing is an understatement! Carlo, Alessandro and Gloria treated us like one of their own and gave us a five star all around experience. Not only did we get a tour of how the wine and balsalmic is made, but a delicious multiple course meal with wine pairings. Visiting Sant' Agnese is a must do and see in the Chianti region and we will 100 percent be back!

Experience of a lifetime

My oldest son and I traveled to Italy this summer and we agreed that this was our favorite experience of the trip! When we arrived, Carlo and Alessandro greeted us warmly and immediately began our tour of the Sant'Agnese Farm operations. Carlo was the consummate host and teacher. We learned all about their wine making, balsamic vinegar and olive oil processes. This is a small family multi-generation farm that is less of a business and more of a mission and passion. Upon conclusion of the tour, we went inside for a tasting and pairing with Alessandro's wife Loria's foods. My son and I ate well on this trip but Loria cooks, prepares and presents at another level...amazing!

The food was fantastic and the wines incredible. Carlo is a sommelier who's generous with his knowledge and patient with his guidance on how to enjoy the food and wine together. I was glad we had an opportunity to select wines, balsamic vinegar (the 30-year-old aged balsamic was my favorite and I can't wait to get our bottle;) and olive oil to ship home so that we could have a little taste of the Sant'Agnese experience back home with our family and friends.

It truly was an experience of a lifetime. We didn't just make friends in Carlo, Alessandro and Loria while there...we found family at Sent'Agnese Farm. I can't wait to return and hope that we can have them in our home at some point in the not too distant future!
