Cheap price for entry, the museum is not very big but nice and with nice exhibits. Especially The Madonna della Melagrana is a sculptural work by Jacopo della Quercia, dating back to 1403-1408 and the tapestries, beautiful.
It doesn't take a lot of time to visit but everything is described next to the works and there is also a way to download an audio guide.
The museum is located right in the side street of the cathedral, on the bell tower side, it is the small street in front of the merchants' loggia.

The Cathedral Museum is located on the side of the Cathedral and is made up of two large rooms richly filled with sacred works. I recommend the visit regardless of faith.

This morning I had the opportunity to see the splendid reorganization of the Ferrara cathedral museum, enhancing the precious finds preserved there. Upstairs there is a collection of illuminated manuscripts that has no equal in Italy. On the lower floor, in addition to the Este tapestries and medieval sculptures, there is an enormous painting by Cosmè Tura which appears in all art history manuals.

This museum is well worth a visit. It is set in a church with an atmospheric cloister. Notable are some very well preserved medieval friezes, tapestries and reliquaries.

It is housed in a former convent with a beautiful cloister at the entrance. It preserves interesting works such as the large books with illuminated manuscripts, the statues that decorated parts of the cathedral, many paintings and the beautiful Madonna of the Pomegranate, a masterpiece by Jacopo della Oak in very white Carrara marble.

Some complain that there are only two rooms set up.
It's true, there are two rooms worth visiting.
But with what richness of content!
The illuminated manuscripts, the ambos of Lombard art, the sculptures of the master of the months, the canvases by Cosmè Tura for the cathedral organ, the tapestries, the completion projects (never executed) of the bell tower, the Madonna by Della Quercia... .
Size, in art, doesn't matter.
Quality counts.
And the desire to really look with your eyes and brain working.
For this reason the two rooms are everything you could ask for.
And even more.
It's true, there are two rooms worth visiting.
But with what richness of content!

Ex Chiesa di San Romano di cui conserva il bellissimo Chiostro con un pozzo, un bel pavimento nel loggiato e Colonne tutte diverse tra loro; al suo interno tante belle Opere, la Sacra famiglia (1627), la Madonna della Melagrana (1400 circa), un residuo del mosaico bizantino "Testa della Vergine" (1135-1150), il Busto di San Giorgio in argento, quello di San Maurelio, tanti grandissimi Arazzi, Sculture, resti di antichi Affreschi alle pareti; una visita molto interessante.

Il museo della cattedrale a Ferrara merita decisamente una visita. Situato in pieno centro a due passi dalla stessa Cattedrale di San Giorgio e allocato nella sede dell'ex chiesa di San Romano, è un museo accessibile alle persone con disabilità motoria. E' presente un ascensore, una rampa e ci sono punti dove sedersi. Solo un piccolo dislivello all'ingresso dove è situato il bel chiostro della chiesa di San Romano. Il biglietto è gratuito per le persone con disabilità. Nel museo troverete arazzi spettacolari, volumi antichi e i bellissimi altorilievi della cattedrale.
