just to take a walk (passing through Val D'Aosta) to see the areas where they have the battle of the oranges, the largest square and Piazza Ottinetti, the prettiest part of the center is the riverside to see the crypt of the cathedral

An afternoon walk in the streets of the historic center, with a visit to the castle which is under renovation, the cathedral and the upper part of Ivrea. Then going down we continued along the avenue along DORA and here you will also find a not bad ice cream shop.

Non si può dire che è un bel centro storico.
Con la fama che Ivrea aveva ai tempi della Olivetti si aspetta molto di più.
Uno scorcio sulla Torre de Castello Sabaudo, una piazza che ricorda i tempi fausti della Olivetti, il Palazzo Comunale……il resto abbastanza scialbo.
Peccato!

Ivrea, poco lontano da Torino, è una bella città che deve la sua fama all'Olivetti, purtroppo non più ai fasti di una volta, e al carnevale, fatto con il lancio delle arance.
Ma anche il suo centro storico merita una visita, raccolto tra il fiume Dora Baltea e la mole del castello.
Nella via principale ci sono tanti negozi tra cui belle pasticcerie in cui assaggiare la famosa torta 900.

Centro storico piacevole e caratteristico, purtroppo un po’ trascurato con negozi chiusi e alcuni palazzi che hanno bisogno di manutenzione e deturpati dalle scritte. Si inerpica su una collinetta ed ospita alcune delle maggiori attrazioni della città.
