We came to visit the museum on August 15 in a near-dead city where everything was closed. We found ourselves in this museum, at the reception we come across people at the reception who obviously did not want to be there. We pay 18 euros and without any information we discover a place without soul, too modern and without interest!! A tourist trap to avoid!!

To us the visit of this building, located next to the cathedral at the end of the quadrilateral for nothing the Pistoia cathedral, did not particularly fascinate. Attested since 1091 acquired in the twelfth century the appearance of a stately home with mullioned windows , trifore and frescoes in the main hall . Today's facade with ogival arches is surmounted by a double order of pointed arches and mullioned windows and conceals the external staircase and the thirteenth-century facade in Romanesque style.
The museum itinerary allows you to closely observe the architecture of the palace allowing access to spaces such as the sacristy of San Jacopo mentioned by Dante in Inferno, the chapel of San Nicola frescoed with stories of the life of the saint , the portico of the Cathedral overlooking the Baptistery and the Piazza del Duomo. There are also works from various collections such as the tapestry millefiori, the wooden angel by Giovanni Pisano, the cycle of murals by Giovanni Boldini , the collection of paintings of the seventeenth century Florentine Piero and Elena Bigongiari.

Palazzo dei Vescovi is a structure, currently a museum, located next to the Cathedral of Pistoia. Currently there is an archaeological route, a cathedral museum and cycles of frescoes by Boldini and Marini. Paid entry.

The old bishop's palace forms a corner with the façade of the cathedral. After undergoing various modifications it was eventually dedicated to the cathedral museum. The facade is beautiful with part of the ancient banded structure at the base.

We have evidence of it since the year 1091, it was the bishop's residence for almost eight centuries, that is until 1863 when it was completely revolutionized to open shops and private homes. At the end of the 20th century the first museum destination to which it will be definitively used at the end of the current renovation.

Located on the Piazza del Duomo, next to the cathedral, it dates back to the last years of the eleventh century. it has undergone numerous changes over time.
In the 15th century the rooms on the ground floor were transformed into shops and rented to private individuals, at the end of the 18th century the new Bishop, finding the building inadequate, had a new one built and sold it.
After numerous vicissitudes, in 1976 it passed to the Cassa di Risparmio, which restored it and designated it as the Cathedral Museum.
I only saw it from the outside.

After numerous vicissitudes, in 1976 it passed to the Cassa di Risparmio, which restored it and designated it as the Cathedral Museum.

Un tempo sede vescovile, oggi ospita un piccolo museo con la particolarità di custodire l'arazzo più esteso orizzontalmente del mondo, tra l'altro in ottime condizioni. L'unica cosa bisognerebbe preparare un po' di più i custodi che ti accompagnano durante il giro

Situato nella piazza del Duomo di Pistoia, il luogo è stato menzionato per la prima volta nel 1091. Ospita la sacrestia di San Jacopo, costruita tra il 1163 e il 1170, dove si è verificato il furto di Vanni Fucci descritto da Dante nel XXIV canto dell'Inferno. È uno dei luoghi di esposizione della Fondazione Pistoia Musei.

Situato in piazza del Duomo, sorse nel secolo XI nell'antico spazio del mercato che l'imperatore Ottone III aveva donato al vescovo di Pistoia. Accoglie la sacrestia di San Jacopo, costruita fra il 1163 e il 1170. Attualmente il palazzo è utilizzato come complesso museale.
