Coffee with cream, hot chocolate (presented with cream without requesting it), chocolate recycled from a plastic jug (leftover) heated with steam, bad (hot water with very light cocoa flavor). Made known to the saleswoman who served us. No comments, no refunds. Bad experience. Absolutely to avoid.

Given the prices definitely to review the service, but especially to eliminate the flies that are stationed on the tables inside the room since food is served.

Where do you go to San Candido to eat a good dessert (not them, they buy them from Birgit Patisserie-Dobbiaco) and drink a good chocolate, tea or aperitif? Surely the Response is Wachtler. Beautiful setting: tables on the pedestrian street, in the back garden or in the new Botanic part, where the terrace overlooking Monte Baranci is something unique. Too bad about the service .. the last three times are to be forgotten. Every time dirty teacups (or encrusted with chocolate on the edge or full of dust or strange stains on the sides); good service at the Botanic while on the other hand you can forget to find attentive and sunny waitresses (we asked 2 times to bring us another cup for tea ... we are still waiting - and half an order was forgotten and consequently brought in 3 installments...); value for money in the norm. Several times we called waiters for lost orders and dirty dishes... enough is enough, I would say enough is enough. It's high season, it's true, but that's no reason to justify such service... all the more so because the staff is not lacking and sometimes (many times) dangles and laughs...
The place is quaint and Birgit makes great desserts. Everything else is to be forgotten.

Typical shop in the center, on the main street of San Candido, renowned both for the food (jams, candies, chocolates, excellent desserts to buy or enjoy on site), and for the sale of typical Tyrolean products and souvenirs

Good morning, we are in San Candido on July 12, 2024 rainy day. After visiting the center we decide to have lunch in this nice bistro anyway. The waitress arrives and we order a first course, a platter of speck with bread and wurster with chips for my daughter at the price of 12 euros as indicated in the menu. They bring the first for my wife, the wurster with chips and notice the bread but not the cutting board that anyway to prepare it I think it takes very little. On the run I decide to eat the wurster that my daughter had ordered and no longer wanted, my wife also begins to eat. After 20 minutes we both finish and my daughter watches. We point out that the cutting board is missing and in about 60 seconds it arrives. After paying without looking I go out and realize 3 euros more surcharge. I point out to the waiter that surprised pretends not to understand, at my insistence he tells me to wait, in front of us and on the door of the restaurant he phones his manager who after a phone call of 5 minutes (note that the cutting board was brought in less than a minute) tells us that the wurster is for babies and asks me if it was eaten by my daughter or eaten by me! I leave annoyed and without saying goodbye after suffering a petty theft. What is more angry is that in my opinion they did everything in a special way to see if the offending dish was eaten by me or my daughter leaving my daughter without eating. The manager told the waiter that that dish could only be ordered by children. Excuse me if it's on the menu? What if I want to eat that? Then specify that if you eat it an adult always the same dish costs 3 euros more! From now on in South Tyrol before paying we will check the receipts and here they do not see me anymore! I repeat incorrect and needy.

I'll let you judge....
I'll start by saying that the sandwich wasn't whole because I nibbled on it on the way home... the salami on the other hand is just like that, the slices are so thin that if you pick them up they break... they were already cut but the girl had them cut further very thin even though I asked to leave them as they were...

a weekend in the cold, the consolation is in the Wachtler shop, we hadn't been there for a while! I couldn't wait to enjoy the excellent cappuccino they make, we had the yogurt cake and the strudel and I must say that the constant great quality of the products makes us happy! Wachtler is a guarantee! Prices are the same throughout the area! Highly recommended!

Famous place in the center selling local products and souvenirs. At the tables you can enjoy sociality. We stopped for a quick lunch on our way up to Val Badia. Three of us had toast and two strudels with cappuccino and orange hot chocolate. Paid 27 euros with credit card.

It lost a bit of quality, had breakfast with a bomb cappuccino and cake, the cappuccino was decent but the bomb had a terrible dough and the yogurt cake was not very tasty. In my opinion, there is better around in the area, especially the botanical wachther (despite the name being the same we found it much better).
