Wonderful and unique location where I recently performed for the Fondazione Città di Terracina where you can admire a breathtaking view and obviously appreciate the beauty of the archaeological area.

I went with my family and sister/brother-in-law as a day trip from Sabaudia.
Whilst the views are stunning, and the remains are quite impressive, the interpretation in the site leaves a lot to be desired. It's not easy to tell what you're looking at a lot of the time, and the leaflet/signs aren't terribly informative.

A nice afternoon at the temple. If you are on holiday in Terracina it is worth a visit. Breathtaking view of the Lazio area. You can also see Vesuvius!!!. Inside if I can give 1 Recommendation you need more directions for the rest tt ok!!!! Shuttle of 1 euro per person from Terracina to the temple very punctual times

Definitely one of the best views of the Circeo, the Gulf of Gaeta and the beautiful sea that bathes them. In my opinion, however, the possibility of a guided tour would allow you to enhance this important archaeological site even more, especially in the eyes of the many tourists who populate the beaches of our sea every year.

Gentile utente, la ringraziamo per la sua recensione positiva. L'aria santuariale c.d. del Tempio di Giove Anxur è costantemente sottoposta a cura e manutenzione: è stata oggetto di recenti restauri sia del Criptoportico del Tempio Maggiore che di quello del Tempio Minore, inoltre i nostri manutentori sono sempre all'opera all'interno dell'area per garantire che possa essere costantemente fruita in sicurezza e che il verde (nei limiti di quanto concesso dall'Ente Parco: rientriamo infatti all'interno del Parco Naturale Regionale dei Monti Ausoni e del Lago di Fondi, nonché Sito di Importanza Comunitaria secondo la Normativa Natura 2000 per la protezione degli Habitat, e siamo considerati Monumento Naturale) viene abitualmente curato. Lo stato delle rovine archeologiche non dipende perciò dall'incuria ma dalle vicende millenarie del sito.
Siamo tuttavia aperti ad ulteriori suggerimenti per la cura.

Place in a state of neglect and decay. Very high cost 7,00 euro per person without Guide. Visit Recommendation. Visit for free the Roman theater center of Terracina.

It is worth giving up half a day at sea if you are in the area to visit the temple of Jupiter in Terracina. Interesting history and breathtaking views!

The city of Terracina was a Roman colony.
The Temple of Jupiter Anxur is located at the top of Mount Sant'Angelo.
Jupiter Anxur was considered the patron deity of the city.
Today, few vestiges of the Temple remain: the famous terrace with 12 arches is interesting.
We could only see it from the sea, when we embarked for the island of Ponza.
Unfortunately, we did not have the time and opportunity to see the Temple up close.
We will definitely return here and this time we will try to see it up close.

For me it was the second visit, but I had a very vague although positive memory. I really wanted to go back with two cousins who were particularly fond of history, myths and archaeology, sure that for them it would be a mystical experience. And so it was! But I want to dedicate a special thank you to Doctor Federica Antonelli, art historian, who welcomed us at the ticket office with kindness and professionalism, explaining to us in detail the visit we would be making, suggesting routes and details to observe, answering all our questions, transmitting to us in just a few minutes all his knowledge and passion for a truly exceptional profession. Thank you so much, it was a fantastic experience!

It was a bit complicated to get to the temple, between a poorly signposted road closure (even Maps was wrong😔) and not very clear directions. Once we arrived at the ticket office, the staff were very kind. Fascinating site, but not easy to read at the time of the visit because it was being restored in many places. The view from the top is beautiful, despite the cloudy day. Expectation not betrayed!
