Vasto in an wonderful town in the Abruzzon region. It has two souls which is to say there is the upper city with vistas to the Adriatic Sea and one of a beach town with its own character. It's hard to decide where to stay. No matter where you go the resturants are known for their "brodetto di pesce" .

The historic center of Vasto was simply beautiful and relaxing to visit: the square is the master and the alleys surround a very quiet town.
Particularity of the stoic center, at a point center there is a beautiful terrace that turns directly on the hills and finally the sea. Visit time not very long, with even a small break, in three hours you visit everything.

I liked it, a lot; we spent three nights in B&B in the countryside of Vasto and all three nights they came here, in the center, not even being able to see Vasto Marina in the evening because magnets from this really pleasant old town. Certainly significant some of its historical monuments, such as the castle, the several churches, the towers scattered around the center, the Avalos palace with its garden and museums, but especially beautiful are its walks, such as Corso De Parma, Via Santa Maria, Piazza Rossetti, Piazza Pudente, Piazza Diomede, the panoramic Via Adriatica and Loggia Amblingh (all pedestrianized streets), its many bars, pizzerias and ice cream parlors, and the many people around that animates this center, especially during the late evening hours (for me there were many people, with the rooms always full, but our Host told us that this is nothing compared to the people who had been there until the previous Sunday: August 25). Despite being a well-known holiday resort, strangely I didn't notice the typical tourist shops (souvenirs, ceramics, etc.).

The old town is really lovely. It is characterized by a multitude of historic buildings: the remains of the church of St. Peter, the church of St. Anthony of Padua, St. Mary Major, the Cathedral of St. Joseph, the palace of Avalos, Piazza Rossetti, the Caldoresco castle, etc. Guide Gabriella was very good in explaining the main monuments and anecdotes related to the city of Vasto.

It's really nice! A lovely village! With a breathtaking view... iridescent sea and absolutely deserted beaches make it all a signature brushstroke!

Beautiful city; we were pleasantly surprised walking along the streets of the old town. The city offers many attractions for all tastes, with a serene and little chaotic atmosphere.

Vasto I liked a lot, it is a town overlooking the gulf below with its beach, the old town is rich in testimonies of the past, with our good Guide Antonio we made a tour of the churches and squares, admiring the colors and suggestions of the place.

How do you get f to the Centro Storico di Vasto on public transportation from Trani or the train station? Which station should I exit, Porto of San Salvo?

There is a bus that takes you to the center. It is just outside the Vastro S. Salvo station not the Porto stop. You buy the tickets from the driver if I remember right. But there's usually a machine that you can buy them from too. The buses are really regular and they take you right up to the main square.
