We came to spend five nights in this postcard village with beautiful houses in a fully pedestrian place. It is true that it is a tourist village with many restaurants, souvenir shops and wine cellars (a little expensive). Its main interest is that from this place you can easily visit Alsace, do not look for a nightlife. Perfect for sleeping, so you will quietly visit the village in the morning without tourists. If you want to visit then one morning is more than enough.

This tiny village of just 1200 inhabitants is a treasure chest of wonder and beauty, nestled in a charming hilly landscape covered with vineyards. Inside it contains all the characteristics of medieval Alsatian villages: bubbling fountains, houses with sloping roofs and half-timbered facades with infinite pastel shades, artisan shops and many cellars, narrow and cobbled streets and numerous pastry shops with the scent of sweets. For me it was the most beautiful village seen in Alsace

A pleasant walk in the main artery and in the adjacent streets.A very lively city during the day on the other hand even in the middle of July around 9 pm tt is closed to take into account for tourists

Very nice village but parking far too expensive. 3,50€ per hour of parking, the municipality exaggerates. In Kayserberg, much more correct 1€ per hour

One of the most beautiful villages in Alsace in my opinion. Superb pedestrian town with very nice shops and very good establishments to eat.
If you are in the area, a detour is worth visiting this beautiful place!!!

Riquewihr was the second stop of our historical town and wine tasting tour. Do go down some of the side streets to fine some interesting buildings and places to eat.

This time to come to Riquewihr! We stayed at the cottage les ramparts for a week. It is very nice little town with cobblestone streets and pedestrians and the Dolder, ... well also to see in restaurants, beautiful shops and wine cellars. Very good in the small town!

Arnaque au fromage! Nous avons été victime d'un vendeur peu scrupuleux. ..nous avons acheté 3 morceaux de fromage pour un montant de 118 euros ....les prix des fromages au kilo n'étaient pas visible, nous avons demandé des petites quantités mais au moment de couper il faisait des morceaux plus large! Il parlait beaucoup...beaucoup trop...nous n'avons rien vu venir mais au moment de payer ça a été la douche froide...un fromage à 98 euros le kilo ! Du jamais vu ! En bref soyez vigilant et surtout fuyez cette boutique de vente de fromage

I have to leave from Colmar Station at 12pm tomorrow back to France. Is it possible to go to Riquewihr before then and leave on time?

It’s a half hour drive and you need a taxi to take you there early in the morning and do only a short visit. You may have to ask the taxi to wait for you while you visit and safe time.

Colmar definitely nearer
There are tours to all of the villages organised through the local hotels. Another option as is s cab from Colmar.
Agree a price beforehand as they are pricey in France and not plentiful

ciao, soggiorna a Colmar e spostati nei paesini durante il giorno, perché dalle 20 in poi sono deserti senza nemmeno un bar aperto (almeno riquewirh). non scherzo sono stupendi ma senza vita dalle 20 in poi. e x senza vita intendo stile deserto.

Hallo Anne H, dann geht es Dir wie vielen anderen Besuchern. Die weihnachtliche Athmosphäre hat mich auch überwältigt.Die überschwenglichen Lichter, überall, da wird in Fankreich nicht gespart. Aber auch die Häuser sind z. Teil komplett dekoriert. Diese Athmosphäre, gepaart mit Veranstaltungen der Vereine in dieser Stadt und den Nachbarstädtchen, ist einfach ein Erlebnis.- Wer einal da war, wird es bestätigen.

The macroon shop at the beginning of the hill seems to be part of the restaurant called "Relais de Riquewihr" since they aer connected, if we talk about the same shop. There is a very friendly man offering free samples of his delicious macroons. But this shop is actually on the right side when walking up the hill, quite at the beginning, only about 100 meters distant from the city hall.

Hi Roberto, there are many beautifull villages in Alsace. We visited Riquewihr, Ribeauvillé, Hunawihr, Bergheim, Otrott with Monte Saint Odile and Obernai. Don't forget Chateau du Haut-Koenigsbourg in Orschiwiller and Colmar and Estrasbourg, the principal cities. I hope you enjoy.
