Just had a boot fitting with Jon Smith I have to say I have never been so impressed . His knowledge was fantastic , really warm and friendly guy.
Exceptional service he really wanted to find the right boot that was comfortable for my feet .
Never experienced this level of professionalism and service before , you have a customer for life . My husband will be your next customer . They say the best form of recommendation is word of mouth I will definitely be recommending you to all my friends .

My son and I have just completed Ben Nevis in Altberg boots recommended and superbly fitted by Dave at Whalley Warm and Dry. Not a blister in sight and warm dry feet just as advertised.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. They even taught me to tie my laces, which I thought I had already learned and had been practising for nigh on 50 years.
Truly professional from start to finish.

Superb foot fitting service from the wonderful staff at Whalley Warm and Dry. Their primary goal is to make sure you leave with well fitted and comfortable boots. They are confidently knowledgeable on individual needs and foot problems and work towards helping to resolve these. A fun bunch who are multi-tasked in not only knowing which boots would work best for your needs, but also in adapting the boots for your comfort. There's no pressure sale; in fact it's quite the opposite. Can't praise and thank these guys enough... especially Aggy and Liz. The added bonus is the pie shop down the road but especially the Autisan cafe in the Abbey's grounds.

I recently had an ankle fusion and need a lot of help to find the right boots. I booked a fitting appointment with Dave and an hour later left with a fantastically comfortable pair of boots . He steamed the boots to get just the right fit. I am a podiatrist and will be recommending Whalley Warm and Dry to my patients. Thank you.

I have been looking to get some decent walking boots for some time as have foot issues. I have not had much success but then came across Whalley Warm and Dry. Although it is a 200 mile round trip I decided to go and see what they could do. I was not disappointed. I had the pleasure of having Aggie look after me who provided excellent service and advice/guidance and took great efforts to make sure I got the appropriate boots. The range of boots is amazing and the quality first class. The service is second to none. Thank you Aggie and Warm and Dry.

We were recommended to come here to get hiking boots that fit - we were not disappointed. Aggie and Katy were wonderful, spending a lot of time ensuring we got the correct boots for our posture and foot shape. The boots were then slightly stretched and when we put them on again it was like walking on air. Our two dogs were made most welcome throughout our visit!! We can’t wait to start using our new boots (The dogs can’t wait either)

I’ve just returned from Whalley Warm and Dry where I had a boot fitting carried out by Jon. What a fantastic service! I have struggled for years trying to find comfortable boots for my wide feet with narrow heels. Jon measured my feet and sorted me out with some AltBerg boots that fit like comfortable slippers. In the process, I discovered I was a size 10, not 9 as I previously thought and I have been lacing my boots incorrectly for 30 odd years! Jon is very knowledgeable and patiently explained everything to me so I understand why my boots have never fitted properly in the past. I’m looking forward to trying the boots out in anger soon, but I can’t fault the service from Whalley Warm & Dry and It was an absolute pleasure to meet and chat with Jon. He’s a true gent. Keep up the brilliant work!

Excellent service and really helpful staff. We used the boot fitting service. Both of us bought new boots and even after 24 hours the difference is noticeable.
We were measured, our needs and requirements assessed and then options offered leading to boots that fit and are comfortable.
I’ve always wanted measurement, advice and guidance when selecting boots.

We have just come home from visiting Whalley Warm and dry, after trying to get to see them in the last couple of years due to covid restrictions we were unable to get there, Coming from Essex we added a couple of days onto our trip this year to Grasmere we waited till they re opened and we cant thank them enough.
I have the most awkward feet going but love walking, but have had many boots that just are not wide enough to accommodate my feet, ending up with pins and needles and blisters, to bad knees. Aggie was amazing and went through everything with me, to be honest I thought here we go again, its going to be another pair of wasted boots, but she certainly could see by my shape of foot it was going to be a problem but measured the feet and placed tape measures for width around the foot jotting down the measurements for future reference.
I like comfort and boy did the boots she fit me with after 3 pairs of trying felt light and so comfortable but sturdy. she did have to steam them something I hadn't seen before to manipulate them to my foot as I have a bunion. What can I say - a pair of boots that I have walked in and feel like I can climb any mountain. Thanks Aggie your a star.

Booked in for a boot fitting, both feet measured and checked out. Questioned about what type of walking I would be doing to establish which boot would be best, quality boots to choose from and no hurry to make your mind up.
Shop is over two floors and covers all walking attire, have since been back and bought jackets, walking tops , pants etc.
Can’t fault the staff great crew . Thanks again

Hi. My son is travelling up from London this weekend to visit us in Huddersfield. Would he need to make an appointment for a consultation on correctly fitting boots or can we just pop in on Saturday. Regards Glennis

While an appointment is recommended we arrived without one and it was a short wait. In and about Whalley there's plenty to occupy your time waiting, including nearby short hikes, historic sites, and decent restaurants... The staff can make recommendations...
