imposing building both in terms of its size and its visual appearance. The very elaborate exterior is more impressive than the rather dark and sober interior. Only surprised by a monumental pulpit and a stained glass window evoking the war period (rather rare in a place of worship).

Everything has been said about this splendid cathedral, as austere on the outside as it is baroque on the inside. Don't miss the beautiful set of contemporary stained glass windows signed Stéphane Belzère and produced by the Duchemin workshop adorning the choir chapels of Rodez Cathedral.

We don't enter the side in this cathedral which dominates the city.
Inside, of course, the layout is turned upside down because there are two altars.
The height of the ceiling is dizzying.

Not the most ornate or lovely cathedral I’ve been to but it’s FREE and worth a wander. There was also a performance by a soloist of The Pretender’ “I’ll Stand by You” in anticipation of a wedding which was great. One chapel in particular is pretty lovely.
