One of the key stops when you go to Normandy or Brittany a unique and incredible as well as wonderful place you have to travel all around the bay clearly when there is low tide and go all the way and see it smaller and bigger especially at sunset a unique place in the world

Great as usual, however do not go to the first toilet which asks you to pay 1 euro per person. And did not go to restaurants, they are not good and they are tourist catches. I Trip Tip the golden sheep or we eat very good Burger!

What a shame! What a waste! Such a beautiful poorly managed site, which has become a tourist trap with exorbitant Awards, dubious and old museums. The charm of the alleys is spoiled by the far too many tourists and souvenir shops at incredible Awards every 10 meters. Rare and dirty toilets, same for garbage cans. I ignore the Parking Award .....! There are magnificent panoramas , a breathtaking landscape but all this is wasted . A cruel lack of management and organization, everything is done to make visitors pay as much as possible and period. No priority queue at the abbey. In short, almost negative for one of the seven wonders of the world! This is shameful!

To be done once but not twice!
The abbey is beautiful but too many people, not even 5 seconds to look at the landscape.
Museums are very poorly maintained, it is a shame to pay them to see this!
The streets are crowded and we have traffic jams on foot!
Not to mention shuttles and parking..
Disappointing for a classified site, typical example of mass tourism.
Do not do with small children or dog!

The abbey is beautiful but what is around is very disappointing. We had taken the nocturnal but surprised nothing decent to eat in the evening very firm around 6.30pm except restaurants of course!! So eat panini limit eatable at the foot of such a site!!! Shop far from authentic at the site the parking exorbitant 20 euros ... Toilet 1 euro per person 😡
For the night the visit is quite fast anyway and I strongly advise to do it late because at the opening it does not give much more than during the day!!!

I was very disappointed (despite the beauty of the place), because the crowds invading Mont St. Michel is absurd and unbearable. Impossible to visit and enjoy its peculiarity. Beautiful only from afar!

Visit the mountain at night!
No reception staff in the evening! The toilet was filthy! A pestilential smell!! I am a tourism professional and I find it unacceptable that such a place does not have a clean toilet!
There is no one to give directions on the course of the nights of the abbey or the shuttles! I know but for those who do not know?!!
The welcome is completely to be reviewed!
Moreover the lighting is more than minimal when coming out of Mt!
As for the show, it was interesting but it could have been more! For people who do not know the history of the mountain, there is no content!! Too bad!

The Bay of Saint Michel has the peculiarity of the tidal island, in fact the Mount with the abbey-fortress is surrounded by the ups and downs of the waters of the Bay.
This wonderful natural geological creation makes the Bay unforgettable.
The island is accessible at low tide, through its tombolo on which a curvilinear dam-walk was built to offer us tourists access, which is forbidden at high tide, intoxicating scenic effect. Not to be missed.

Sarò a Mont St Michel il 2 agosto e vorrei fare la traversata a piedi della baia. Ho cercato in rete ed non ho trovato alcuna visita guidata in italiano, solo in francese (qualcuna in inglese e pochissime in tedesco). Esistono agenzie o guide che offrono la visita commentata in italiano?

Non lo so, non ho fatto la traversata, ma ti posso consigliare di restare in zona fino al tramonto, andando in uno dei punti panoramici, tipo Point du Ground du Sud, per vedere lo spettacolo delle luci che gradatamente si accendono sull'isola.

Nous logions au Mercure Le Mont Saint Michel. C'est très bien placé, au départ des navettes mais assez cher. sinon il y a de nombreux hôtels ou chambres d'hôtes dans un rayon de 10 ou 15 km.

Bonjour, nous avons fait la visite nocturne, donc sans guide , mais c'est super aussi car il y a un spectacle de pyrotechnie et de la musique tout au long du parcours , ambiance détendue et intimiste.

We did that from City Rama some years back- so I'd contact Avoya or City Rama and book a bus tour with them to Mont Saint Michele. We had a meeting place the bus took there, it included lunch and the ride back. It was perfect but although it is still there City Rama has had a name change I hear!
