The Fellhorn cable car is connected with some waiting time y as there are only 2 gondolas. The drivers compensate for this with entertaining information during the beautiful and impressive ride. Once at the top there is a magnificent view, which becomes even greater when climbing to the summit cross. There are many people on the road here, with the word "overtourism" coming to mind. As soon as you enter one of the various (longer) hiking trails, this changes almost immediately, and there are only a few people left on the road. That's true even during the holiday season. I descended from the summit to the valley. The views are phenomenal!

I came here for nostalgia, I worked out here in the late 90's as a military ski instructor and wanted to see if it was as I still imagined it. Not much had changed it's relatively affordable as skiing goes, I bought a season pass for my 5 weeks skiing. I wouldn't go solo again, the locals are not that warm/welcoming and the skiing can be fickle as in no snow or poor conditions especially later (March) in the season, but I did it and tried it, I'll go higher in the future, Austria and Italy which apparently are very welcoming. If I was with a partner or friends then it may of been better.

The ski area is medium-sized and offers a lot of variety. Unfortunately, the piste maps are quite imprecise, so you can only explore the ski area using the signs. Overall, we had 3 nice days in the ski area and can recommend the ski area. Most of the lifts are quite modern.
The blue slopes are not always suitable for beginners in poor snow conditions. Depending on the snow conditions, we found the less busy black slope easier to ski than the already very well-worn, narrow, bumpy blue slope. This particularly applies to the descent to the middle station.
If you register online with the MyMountain Club, you can buy the ski pass online with a discount. If you then deposit the ski pass number at the machine in the club after receiving it, you will receive a 2 euro discount on the parking ticket at the Fellhorn lift station. This means that you only buy the parking ticket after receiving the ski pass, after depositing the ski pass number in the club using your smartphone. Overall, the type of discount system is unnecessarily complicated and very annoying. If in doubt, the customer pays too much because they don't understand how the discount system works.

Fellhorn Bahn closed today...we wanted to go to Kanzelwand...extra charge of...16 € for the bus for 3!!! Should we fly there? By car, 5 € parking ticket...plus the bus connections are far too long...overcrowded several times...never again...

We took the Kanzelwandbahn cable car up with the children, aged 4 and 6 (very nice view) and wanted to walk the panoramic circular route.
Halfway there we noticed the time. We only made it as far as the Fellhornbahn cable car! Then we went down and took the bus back.
Tip: you have to keep in mind when the last cable cars leave.

Immer wieder ein Erlebnis, auch wenn mittlerweile überall Parkgebühren anfallen, und nicht zu knapp. Schöne Rundwege mit teilweise botanischen Hinweisen auf Pflanzen am Wegesrand. Besonders sehenswert viele Orchideen und die Alpenrosen Ende Juni.

Wir haben die Fellhornbahn (Großkabine) genutzt um auf den Fellhorn Gipfel zu fahren um dann im Anschluss zur Kanzelwand rüber zu wandern. Breiter Weg, auch mit kleinen Kindern kein Problem. Gehzeit ca. 1 Stunde. Vorher kann man noch einen Abstecher zum Fellhorn-Gipfelkreuz machen, ca. 15 min Aufstieg von der Gipfelstation der Bahn aus. Fellhornbahn und auch die Kanzelwandbahn sind in die Jahre gekommen, trotzdem schöne Fahrten.
Bei Buchung einer Unterkunft würde ich immer raten nur Angebote mit Bergbahn inklusive zu buchen, das spart einiges an Geld ein.

OK Bergbahnen hat die Preise massiv erhöht und den 10 aus 14 Tage-Wahl-Skipass abgeschafft. Mich nach Beschwerde auf das 100€ teurere Saisonticket verwiesen. So vergraulen sie ihre letzten 2Wochen-Gäste. Skipass gilt immer für das angeblich "gesamte Skigebiet", es sind aber nur einzeln anzufahrende Berge. Was kein Problem ist, aber der Pass ist durch diesen Fake viel zu teuer.

Hi,
I've been skiing in this region twice before but not been to the Fellhorn yet, I was wondering how the Apres ski is there? I know this region is not really known for it post-ski partying but I know that the bar at Balderschwang gets pretty lively over the weekends and was wondering if the same is true for the Felhorn?
