We strolled in the beautiful park and enjoyed the great weather. We did not use the entrance because we could also run along the salt pan very nicely. Afterwards we enjoyed a delicious non-alcoholic cyclist in the beer garden 🤗👍🏻
Was a great day

If you visit Bad Dürkheim, you must also visit this giant building. The Bad Dürkheim Graduation Works, also known as “Saline”, is part of the spa facilities. The plant increases the salt content of a brine by the so-called gradation; when it evaporates, the salt content of the ambient air also increases, so that inhalation becomes possible for short purposes. The graduation works are one of the landmarks of Bad Dürkheim. In its present form, it was built between 1847 and 1850 and, at 333 m in length, is one of the largest in Germany. By the way, parking is free at Gutleutstraße. For parking on the sausage market grounds we have now charged a fee of 3.00 €.

I have never been treated so disparagingly as a tourist at a so-called "attraction".
Unfamiliar with the area, I was not aware that it closes at 4 p.m. It was Friday (/13). We were there at 3 p.m. and after strolling around the spa park, we took a little extra time. We walked half a lap to the front platform, lingering a little on the bench. Suddenly an old, lanky, unshaven, completely dissatisfied with his life, dirty old man type (probably the type of alcoholic, permanent welfare recipient) came along and rudely grumbled that we were already too late. We stood up and walked half a lap back to the only entrance/exit. It just takes a while given the oversized, actually unnecessary length. You don't notice any effect when you breathe anyway. Shortly before the end of the "South Tower", the keeper of the wooden shed really turned up the heat with endless, primitive insults.
"What the hell are we thinking, acting like that..." The reply "Should we RUN back now?!" was just gibberish, growled in my beard. When I got back to the lower level after going down the stairs, I wanted to leave as quickly as possible through the first normal glass door I saw in my negative stress mood and then the wooden thing, but the door was locked. I was immediately barked at from behind, "So you can't read either!" These are the right ones for me..." etc. in that tone. The guy couldn't contain his artificial rage because of his 2 minutes off work. Laughable for people who have been working 60-70 hour weeks for 2 decades. And more demanding than being a caretaker, bouncer or whatever the job description is.
Instead of the first obvious door, you had to turn 3/4 of the way around the wood of a center console and then take the "right" exit on the opposite side at a wooden turnstile. Aha. The end of the world. Very obvious. Especially with nonstop snotty yelling from behind and you just want to get out of here quickly.
At the end of the exit threshold, you were politely bid farewell with a sighing apology that one-time tourists in Bad Dürkheim simply don't know their way around their - for us foreign - premises, and that you should "get back to where you came from!" Repeated several times. "Get rid of yourselves!" "Get out!" etc.
Well, if that isn't a health resort in terms of tourism efforts.
We have never experienced anything like that in the way of dealing with guests. Even in the general service desert of Germany. Normally, with such tourist things, you can leave yourself at will long after admission closes without such completely insane after-work nonsense! Or that an announcement is made in good time. At least a competent, politely trained employee. Never experienced such rubbish. In all these years, we were certainly not the only ones who just happened to pass by at 3 p.m. or later and didn't intentionally want to send someone to overtime hell. I don't want to do it for too long. But never again. Apart from the completely bitter gnome, the salt air was actually not really noticeable any different to what you feel massively in your lungs at the sea. Not even a nose 5 cm from all the water trickling. No idea why it was rated surprisingly well here. Just because it's cheap at 1.50 EUR entry?
To put it in context, we are clearly middle class, mid-40s, German. No one has ever spoken to us as paying guests in such a low-brow way.
Bad Dürkheim really?! You don't look anything like Marxloh or Neukölln!

Walking around (several times) or just sitting on a bench is good for your health. If you don't mind entering, you'll experience the salty air even more intensely.
You can also see the small chapel on the mountain or the large barrel.
Every breath you take at the graduation tower supports your lungs and bronchi.

My wife and I had to experience this thing called the Graduation Tower. Check out Wikipedia to fully understand how this monstrosity works. For only 1,50 Euro, you can take a leisurely stroll enjoying salty, misty air. Make sure you breathe deeply to enjoy the full benefit of this salt sair. I am not sure about the science behind it, but what I can say is that it does work. I wish I had this closer to my home in Stuttgart as I wod come often. Families come with strollers and picnic here. I strongly suggest spending an hour or so taking this all in. You will feel better!

Going up close to the water and Brush. Smelling the salty air. the day I went it was 35 Deg. C and the difference in temperature between the two sides was amazing it felt so much cooler on the shade side. the science of the place is explained clearly via google lens on the many placards.
