Bern greenhouse choice. A place along the Moselle actually divided into two villages. On one side bern kasel and on the other side choice. Bern Kassel looks more like a lazy village of the Efteling with many shops that do their shopping at well-known Chinese sites.

A truly beautiful place, all the more regrettable that the whole valley regularly suffers from terrible loud music deep into the night. That's not a good advertisement. So who also wants to sleep .... better not live here.

After Bernkastel and Traben-Trarbach we visited Cochem this year. On a beautiful Saturday the pedestrian zone was raunchy - practically no difference to the former places.....

Overall place was very beautiful, parking was no problem either. The only issue we had at first was how to reach the castle at the top. Since google or apple maps had no direct path to it from the valley, rather we found it by accident on our way going home. Still it was worth it for the view from the top at the end.

Like us, you can take the boat from Grevenmacher in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to Trier or further. This will allow you to admire not only the vines but also the remarkable buildings that line it.

Op de flanken van de Moezel rijzen de wijnranken naar omhoog en zorgen voor ontelbare flessen wijn per jaar. Het bekendste merk in natuurlijk Riesling.
Hou je het liever rustig, dan zijn dorpjes Kröv, Enkirch, Bullay, Puenderich of Beilstein iets voor jou. Je komt hier best met camper of caravan naartoe.
Wil je wat meer horeca en winkels, ga naar Zell of Traben-Trarbach.
Jezelf onderdompelen in de toeristische plaatsen met een overvloed van horeca en winkels, dan verblijf je in Cochem of Bernkastel-Kues.
Je moet ook eens op de Moezel gevaren hebben. Er is een leuke dagtocht van Cochem naar Traben-Trarbach en je meert aan in de plaats van je keuze.
De vallei leent zich ook voor lange wandelingen langs de Moezel of in de bossen. Je maakt dan wel wat hoogtemeters.
Ook de fietslustigen komen hier aan hun trekken.
Dit is een prachtige streek met tal van mogelijkheden waar veel mensen jaarlijks hun vakantie doorbrengen, elk op zijn eigen manier.

Being on a river cruise gives a different perspective to life and to a river and its surroundings.
We sailed down the Moselle and Rhine rivers on such a cruise.
The Moselle (Mosel) was great and made even better because the sun was shining and we were sat on the sundeck sipping a prosecco and a red wine.
The views are gorgeous. Lots and lots of vineyards clinging to the steep slopes. No piece of land was safe! Pretty villages. Castle ruins. Lots and lots to see.
Recommended.

Sailed along The Moselle on a Scenic River Cruise , together with The Rhine .
The scenery is beautiful. Can understand why people say this area is Fairytale like . Lots of castles, vineyards, beautiful architecture, made all the better by sunshine & sipping fabulous wines from the area .
Choose your River Cruise company with care . This river is certainly one to sail on and enjoy .

En av de pittoreske småbyene som ligger ved Mosel. Stille og fint å vandre i den gamle bydelen. Mange små butikker og vinhandlere.

We are thinking about booking a Rhine/Moselle River Cruise for this fall or next spring. Can you recommend cruise companies or specific cruises? We aren't into super fancy/ luxury...but enjoy good food and nice people! We have never done a river cruise before, so are out of our element! Also any GREAT excursion recommendations would be appreciated!!

Either drive by car OR take a train. German train service is first rate, you just need to do your research on what trains go where and ensure you have time for any connections, depending on your final destination in the Mosel. Some of the smaller towns don't have rail service after 8pm or so at night and it may be that you have to make several changes. Depends on where exactly you are headed. But researching is all part of the planning fun.
Alternative is if you are driving, the freeways are good and I would research the German version of their main motoring organization. If you google International Clubs and look for AAA Exchange, you could get help if you are a member of a reciprocal motoring body in your home country. Most websites I find have provision for English and are most helpful. This way you could find the most direct route from Rothenburg to your destination point on the Mosel.

Are you talking about Stromberg near the Autobahn 61? That's not in the Mosel valley, it's in a different wine district, the Rheinland-Pfalz.

I recommend you can download Google 'translate' FOC either on your computer, smartphone or both this would give you all the answers & info you need.
From May - October thier are many winefests on the Rhein & Mosel rivers, all of which can be found on the internet. I hope this helps.

There's a wide range of restaurants in Cochem, and "good" depends on what you like, what you'll pay and what experience you are looking for. For myself and my wife, we favoured the traditional German style bar with beer and sold home cooking - there's enough choice. One note of caution though - the Germans do tend to eat early - by 6pm many places were already full up. As for must see stops, there is enough in Cochem to occupy your eyes, and the Castle looming over the town is a definite "don't miss". Check out their website for food too

We did stay in Trier for 3 days within those days after touring around Trier an interval of moving up and down up to Cochem where there's a nice castle there was okay. We brought along our car so we were able to travel and visit cities in between Trier and Cochem. but we did stay a day in one those cities to visit more like beilstein, bernKastel, up to Cochem. There are a lot of nice villages/cities along the Mosel which you can stop by for wine testing and eventually purchase.
