We were treated to a wine tasting event here as a river cruise excursion. The building is an ancient winery and features all the key parts of a working winery. The tasting was held in a large subterranean room and we had a blast! I've been to some wine tastings that were a bit too serious and stuffy, but not this one! Sebastian was a funny and excellent host. After the tasting and tour, we purchased some wine to bring back to the ship. The wines were outstanding and surprisingly affordable. If in Bernkastel, stop in here and you will be glad you did!

We were on a river cruise and the wine tasting was arranged by the Cruise Director.
One of the principals of the winery gave a presentation about wines of the region, the history of their business, and details regarding the four wines that we tasted.

Mycket bra vinprovning,med möjlighet att handla viner på plats vi köpte två lådor av ett kvalitetsvin som vi hade provsmakat på vinprovningen,nu har vi druckit vår första flaska av det och jag ångrar att vi inte köpte mer,⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Gudagott!

Stopped in here as an excursion from our Emerald cruise. This is a great building (surprising as it expands under ground back to as estate building. Tasting is done in the basement in a room next to where they keep lots of the barrels. Though all that we tasted were versions of Rieslings (as per the area) the difference in flavour was significant. A great stop, while visiting the beautiful little town.

Kurz vor Ladenschluß haben wir die kleine Vinothek vom Weingut Dr. Pauly besucht. Eine nette ältere Dame hat uns fachkundig beraten und die Weine perfekt beschrieben. Dazu gab es noch Hinweise auf die Weinlagen, die Be- und Verarbeitung der Trauben und Vermerke zur Historie des Moselweinanbaus. Die Weine des Weingutes waren durchweg sehr gut und hat uns veranlaßt welchen mitzunehmen.

We came for a wine-tasting, and the lady behind the counter was very nice and let us taste as many as we wanted. It was cold and rainy outside so this was a perfect break from walking in the elements.
We tasted about 5 Rieslings and decided on 2 bottles. They ranged from sweet to very dry. She has a number system on them, so it is easier to keep track of which ones you like. She wrapped them up and we were on our way.

Went as part of a large riverboat party, trouble is that they tried to accommodate too many persons in the cellar. You were sat shoulder to shoulder and was getting quite hot within a few minutes.
Tasted the first wine, which was average, but had to leave as very claustrophobic due to the volume of people.
Although the cruise line had arranged this at short notice due to cruise schedule being changed due to low water levels on the Rhine the proprietors should have reduced the numbers that could attend and suggested that the party be staggered over 2-3 sittings.
