Piazza magnifica nel centro d'Yverdon-les-Bains, di passaggio abbiamo visitato il centro e una volta arrivati in questa piazza siamo restati incantati dagli stupendi monumenti che la circondano partendo dal castello e dalla magnifica chiesa Paroisse d'Yverdon-Temple.

The Place Pestalozzi in the spa town of Yverdon is one of my favorite squares in Switzerland. Cobble stoned, pedestrianized and with a harmonious architecture of mid-18th century buildings, except for the castle, it is a joy to wander around and then to sit down at one of several restaurants with plenty of outdoor tables at its northern side.
The restaurants are facing the Hotel de Ville (Town Hall) on the opposite side, built with yellow limestone from Hauterive NE. To the right is the baroque facade of the 'Temple', considered to be one of the best examples of protestant sacral architecture in Switzerland. Not from the mid-18th is the castle with its heavy round towers in the corners, a typical Savoy construction, going back to the 13th century.
In the old days it was the 'Place du Marché', the market place, but after 1890 it was changed to 'Place Pestalozzi'. It was the year a statue was erected here, honoring the educator and social reformer Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi from Zurich, who in the early 19th century run a famous school in the castle of Yverdon. 'Learning by head, hand and heart' was one of his maxims.
The bronze monument showing a standing Pestalozzi with two children is a work by Swiss sculptor Karl Alfred Lanz, who is also known for his equestrian statue of General Dufour in Geneva.

la place Pestalozzi se situe en plein centre-ville de Yverdon les bains. Elle est piétonne est très agréable car au centre de nombreuses petites rue de la vieille ville de Yverdon.
Au 18e siècle, la place Pestalozzi était simplement appelée la Place ou Place du marché. Elle a été rebaptisée en 1890 du nom du célèbre pédagogue Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi au moment de l’inauguration du monument qui lui est dédié.
nombreux bâtiments importants se trouve sur cette place notamment : l’église (1757), halles et hôtel de ville (1768-1769) et auberge communale (1775-1776), qui jouxtent le château savoyard du 13e siècle, alors propriété et résidence du souverain bernois.

Zum ersten Mal in Yverdon-les-Bains und wir starten unsern Rundgang auf dem Place Pestalozzi.
Der Platz ist relativ gross und es herrscht lebhafter Betrieb.
Ein wunderschöner, autofreier Ort mit dem Pestalozzi-Denkmal und viele Cafes laden zum Apero ein. Der Platz ist auch Ausganspunkt für in die schöne Altstadt.

Its a lovely square to sit down, have a drink or a meal, enjoy the sun, and people watch. It feels like holiday. Merci beaucoup Yverdon, it felt so good in this pandemic to be able to enjoy some time out.

A truly beautiful square, must visit on a sunny day to see the contrast of the blue sky against the colorful buildings! The Old Town of Yverdon is not big but it is lovely and for this alone the trip there was worth it to me. The architecture style reminded me a lot of Italy.

Une très jolie place avec le chateau à proximité. En été et dès que la température le permets cette place est pleine de terrasse.

je vous recommande cette belle promenade dans ce quartier d'Yverdon les bains. prenez le temps de vous arrêter sur cette place. En hiver elle est magnifique. L'été un petit verre en terrasse le soir c'est tout simplement magique. Tout autour il y a les magasins ; une librairie avec un grand choix de livres français et suisse. Mon magasin préféré est Manor j'y passerai des heures et je ressors toujours avec quelque chose. plein d'article que nous ne trouvons pas à Paris;En ce qui concerne le parking pas de soucis il
