Not many mountain lakes are just a few steps from the cable car; Daubensee is one of them and it is definitely worth visiting it. The view is amazing and changes every 50m along the loop around the lake. The reflection of the mountains on the water is incredible and there are many spots for nice pics. Therefore, consider more than 2 hours to complete the loop, especially if there is snow on the path.
And take some food with you, so you can have a pic-nic with a view, and what a view!

Just a short cable car ride to the top where the views are breathtaking.
Also we had lunch in the WildStrubel panoramic restaurant. Although self-service the choice and food quality were very good and very Swiss.
Take a second smaller cable car down to the lake then the beautiful walk around the perimeter.
Such a great place to chill out.
Clearly the number one place to go in Leukerbad(winter or summer).
My only downside was that in times of COVID we were shocked to see 33 people crammed into the cable going back down.
The space should have been controlled to a max of 10 if the social distancing was taken seriously.
That why I only gave it a 4 rating.

Bonjour à tous, je partage mon avis car via faite le 5 aout 2020 et j'ai été surpris de la difficulté( tronçon de 8h ). Cette via n'est pas du tout à prendre à la légère ( vraiment longue, peu équipée). Elle est notee ED comme le diédre de crolles mais elle n'a rien à voir si Leukerbad est cotée ED alors le diedre de Crolles ou la grotte à carrez devraient être cotés AD + grand max. Via magnifique et très sportive mais attention...pour MON avis à faire uniquement avec bonnes connaissances et excellente condition physique et tres bonnes chaussures.
La via est vraiment longue, limite dangeureuse en certain points car peu équipé en ferraille il faut régulièrement tirer sur le cable en parties vertical et glissante à cause des ruisselements d'eau, en cas de chute ça peu faire tres mal. Notez aussi des chutes de cailloux assez fréquente. La fin de la via est dans la neige et la glace ( 5 aout !!!!) Soyez prèvenus.
Sinon super balisage et paysages magniques à faire si on en a les capacités.

Un petit voyage à faire, sublime avec le long de la paroi ce chemin invraisemblable. Et en haut un plateau où s e nich eun joli lac parmi les rochers et les fleurs.

A major attraction for the great views of the entire southern Swiss alps and sometimes the French.Walks abound, some fairly easy around a lake, the rest steep, need clambering and the altitude makes it harder.The photo pictured is for experienced hikers.Gondola to the top,ot take a steep 2 hour hike straight up.As always, there is a cafe with great views.

Jolie montée en téléphérique, impressionnante avec le vide. Arrivée avec joli point de vue depuis la plate-forme dans le vide du restaurant ! Randonnée autour Daubensee très facile en moins de 3heures de temps. Belle journée !!!

Ich war anfangs unsicher, ob ich den Aufstieg (Leukerbad-Gemmipass) wagen sollte, der in den offiziellen Wanderrouten mit Kathegorie III beschrieben wird. Der Anblick der Felswand ist schon beeindruckend. Doch letztlich bin ich froh, dass ich es angegangen bin. Ja, es ist anstrengend. Aber es ist machbar. Es gibt meines Erachtens keine wirklich heiklen Stellen. Der Weg ist sehr gut ausgebaut. Der Aufstieg dauert mit einigen Pausen ca. 2 Stunden. Die Abfahrt mit der Gemmi-Bahn gerade mal 6 Minuten. Es hat sich gelohnt!

We took the cable car from the town. And then hiked to Hotel Schwarenbach where we had an outstanding lunch and then we hiked back. In total about 4 hours. Parking in Leukerbaden was a bit i=of a hassle but worked out.
