This monument is in memory of the men of Overtown And Castlehill who died in the two world wars. The monument features a rectangular block for the plinth and is surmounted by a Latin style cross. An unusual design of the cross is the bevelled edges at the top and end of the arms, which look a little like the bevels of the Victoria Cross. The monument is located on the west side of Main Street, and can be spotted on the road when passing Overtown on the way to Newmains. A worthy monument with an interesting Latin cross.
