I first visited this beach over a year ago and a kind lady who regularly stays at her holiday home told me that dolphins are regularly seen crossing the bay at sunrise. One of my absolute favourite things to do here, and whilst they weren’t jumping around as much as the last time, it’s such a joy to see them in their element. Good beach for walks, too rough to swim in.

Zenith beach can be seen from the summit of Mt Tomaree and is an amazing little beach to visit. It is unspoilt, uncrowded with no man made structures to ruin the natural views. I visited mid-week in winter so there were only a couple of other people about. There are rocks at each end of the beach to climb (or photograph). It is wonderful walking on sand with no other footprints on it. No facilities of course, but that's part of the natural beauty & appeal of the place. Was so nice I went back to visit at sunrise the next morning.

Best little beach, definitely recommend. Also protected from the wind and easy access from the car park

A very pretty beach and an easy walk from the carpark. A good place to take photos of the waves or try for sunrise.

We went for a walk to Zenith Beach which nestles on the southern side of Tomaree Head. It was a very cold NW wind blowing so Zenith Beach was really protected and warm. The sand was really white, the views fabulous and the water was clear and calm. And what’s more we were the only ones there.

Zenith Beach was one of a number of beautiful beaches along this stretch of coast and adjacent to Box Beach which was larger and prettier. Access is via a decent sized car park and a short walk to what was a peaceful and pretty stretch of beach and sand.

Great beach a 60 second walk from the carpark. Beautiful area but certainly not a safe beach as it is exposed and unpatrolled.

Great beach. Not busy and great for swimming or body boarding.
Heaps of people were enjoying sun bathing in the beach.
If you are not a strong or confident swimmer, it might be difficult to keep with the waves.
Fantastic beach, better for those that have good swimming skills.
There is no shady corner, so bring an umbrella or something similar if you want some shade.

We were thrilled to find this quiet beach away from the much busier parts of Nelson Bay. Pitched our tent and relaxed in peace for the day. Beach was clean, water was a little choppy but that didn't stop us enjoying ourselves.

A hidden gem down the end of Shoal Bay - will be back. Be aware it is ocean facing so might be rough water at times - not patrolled.
