“National trust garden”

这是一个荷兰花园恢复国家的信任和道旁的运河。不是很大但是很有趣和逛一圈,到处都是运河的鲤鱼和汽车站店容易见两端的,不容易看到你走的只是一个小的整整齐齐的因为看到太高。有一个设施齐全的厨房和花园和在的那一刻起你就可以挑选你自己的刺鼻的多发性2 。。沿着一条小河边的花园可以看到鳟鱼你仔细看的话。愉快的野餐区域环绕着花园和你可以买咖啡和茶巧克力的但是在停车场,就在门口的座位,一个令人满意的方式度过一个下午。

吃午饭后去了一个下午的时间在红色的狮子（推荐）。这是一个有趣的花园有一些不寻常的植物。蔬菜/水果花园使这里成为一个小运河的不同做（上面有许多奶油鲤鱼）,所有这些都基于一个荷兰的风格。工作人员都非常热情和乐于助人。一个漂亮的花园有很多地方可以坐下来就沉浸在美妙的花园的美丽景色的有多个不同的区域。会喜欢看到的翠鸟brook但是都没有见过的。我们确实看到一些苍蝇虽然圣米歇尔花园酒店。咖啡或茶一杯冰镇饮料可用但没有实际的咖啡机坏了。

Wonderfully maintained Dutch Garden in a quiet village. Linda Hill is a great advocate for the National Trust with good knowledge of the garden and the local surroundings

Beautiful garden with 500 year old oak, nice place for walk and meditation, very peaceful place, you can spend there about an hour

Small and charming

A charming formal water garden, the planting is simple and has impact.

Visit the Tower: A short flight of steps to go up the tower for delightful views across the garden. The tower is decorated and well maintained.

The ponds have large fish which can be clearly seen from the banks.

The fruit from the apple trees was for sell near the exit and I came home delighted with a bag fall of many varieties of fruit for very little.

Awe inspiring gardens - quietly

A very special place tucked away next to the Severn river. A fabulously laid out acreage with canals, straight lines, topiary, vegetables and flowers galore. A LOVELY spot to spend time aside wandering and reflecting. It truly is quietly gripping. The National trust staff member was very helpful and full of useful information.

Nicely laid out and maintained gardens

Just off the main road these gardens are beautiful and show the care devoted volunteers take in looking after them. Be aware there are very limited refreshments available on site. Parking limited outside the entry kiosk but more available in the lay-by where you turn off the main road to drive in.

Worth a passing visit.

Popped in back home from a stay in Thornbury and was impressed. Small but the topiary was very good as were the water 'lakes' and the vegetable plot, the latter to reflect as it was when the garden was created.May not be a site to make a specific trip to but if passing well worth it.?

Lovely unique gardens

Lovely, well maintained water gardens. Different and unique. We went on a Saturday and managed to park in the car park ok (space for say 10/12 cars?), if not there’s a big lay by close. We were warmly welcomed and given some completely fish food which was lovely for our young daughters (they ask for a donation for any subsequent bags which is fair). We spent around an hour here which is probably maximum without a picnic (plenty of tables). The only reason 4 stars not 5 is the missed opportunity of refreshments. The only offering is instant coffee/tea etc and water/box of juice. The tables overlooking the water looked so inviting and we’d have bought a cream tea or ice cream or coffee and cake etc if there’d been something on offer. Aware there’s other eateries in the area but we wanted to enjoy the gardens for longer and would have been added revenue to the gardens.

Well worth a visit

Lovely visit to these gorgeous Dutch gardens. We parked out in the lay-by on the road and walked down, being in the week there were spaces still available in the car park, no charge either. Lovely lady in the kiosk was very friendly and told us to look out for the wild orchids and about the walk around the back fields to the cliffs, church and village which is also worth doing. They have a laminated card in the kiosk with the map and points of interest. Back to the gardens themselves, very well maintained, with labels on most plants and vegetable patch. Great to read about the history too, the Dutch influences from William of Orange and the 1700. The canals with fish, ducks & lilies, a lovely picnic area. Saw quite a few things hadn’t seen before, tulip tree in flower, artichokes, asparagus growing, wild orchids. So pleased the NationalTrust took it on and brought it back to its former glory. It’s only a small kiosk so refreshments are very limited but plenty of pubs in the area. Was also offering pick your own on some of the fruit and veg.

Well worth a visit to these beautiful gardens

This place is lovely and well worth a visit. The grounds are relatively small and easy to access with beautifully laid out gardens and waterways. The spring borders and plantings were lovely and we must go back in the summer to see the gardens in full summer bloom.

A little gem beside the river Severn

Lovely small garden with canals - quite a unique feature. Huge oak tree dating from 1700. We enjoyed the spring bulbs and the blossom on the fruit trees. Well kept with a wilder area for picnics which looked quite beautiful in the sunlight. Interesting history.
