Gaganachukki and barachukki falls are located near kollegala chamarajanagar district. This waterfalls are also used to produce hydro electric power at shivanasamudra hydroelectric power plant. Best time to visit during month of July, aug and September. Distance from bangalore (128km), From mysore (79km).

A fun day outing with friends and family.

One of the falls outside of Bangalore and Mysore.
Best for people looking for a one day ride / drive from the city and enjoy a bit of pleasant time here.
There's stairs that'll lead to the view point.
I would suggest you to avoid weekends as it's usually crowded at times.

The place has ample parking space.
You'll get some snacks here along with tender coconut and sugarcane juice vendors.
and there is pay and use toilet complex.

Place is best suited for families with kids and elderly, friends, couples etc
More or less, everyone can visit the place.

At the time of my visit, there was some construction going on, maybe extending the view point?

Huge waterfall. Veey good one day trip from bangalore. Good snacks available at the spot:). We went on 1 Aug and had a good timè off!

We visited the falls on Dec 26. We drove from Whitefield & it took close to 4hrs to reach Barachukki falls, There was a moderate amount of crowd - not too much & but given the COVID situation not too less either. Given that there was a good monsoon this year, I thought there would good amount of water given all the rains in November as well. But that was not the case. So in a way the views were disappointing. After the falls, we visited a nearby restaurant - Mayura Barachukki (if I remember the name correctly) - for some snacks. Food was ok & the toilets were clean. However the views from there & the settings + view were fantastic. If you are in the area, then would definitely recommend a short visit to the restaurant. Post that we visited Gaganachukki falls, about an half an hour drive away. Better luck here, since the falls had more water here. Views were dedent here, though I would not say fantastic. After spending about 30mins there we started our journey back home. So total round trip time back home to Whitefield about 10.5 hrs.

Beatuful falls

The location is good and the view is beautiful. There is enough parking place for vehicles . Reaching there is the morning is better.

Sunday Family Outing

Shivasamundram Falls is on Cauvery River in Mandya district about 120 km from Bangalore. There is a beautiful Viewpoint where the view of the majestic falls is awesome. A nice family outing on a Sunday.

Spectacular waterfall on the river Cauvery

The sheer volume of water flowing down the falls is impressive. We were lucky to be there a day after rains in the hills so the view at the falls was breathtakingly beautiful. If you're looking for a quick picnic this place is a great visit!

Good Water fall

Not so much enjoyable in Barachukki Falls but in Gaganachukki Falls, water is very vast and force is also very good. Very enjoyable in Gaganachikki falls. But we are not allowed to enter deep near water.

Nice waterfall

The view of the falls after the good season of rain is majestic. The falls is at around 2 and half hour drive from Bangalore and roads to reach the falls are good. There are nice view points to see the falls.

Beautiful Bluff

Bluff means a waterfall which has a very steep fall. This shivanasamudram falls is one of that kind. The best time to visit this place is during its peak just after the rains. Because, there is just provision to see the falls from far off and bath is possible only in the downstream quite far away. There are two parts for this waterfall. Gaganachukki and Barachukki. Gaganachukki is better when compared to barachukki and the road to the falls is the best part of the drive. There are no eateries available here. So, take food with you if you plan to spend more time. Both the falls can be seen within 2 hours. So its better to combine with B.R.Hills or some other place if you are looking for a full day tour.
