We took a taxi ride here from our rented narrowboat. The site is really nice and was relatively quiet in the afternoon of a week day. I liked the overall medieval atmosphere and the arrangements inside the court buildings.
Keep in mind this is quite a short visit, so if you're booking a taxi back, don't make the same mistake we did as we booked the return for 2.5hrs later, which is way too long (and the café closes at 3PM). I'd say 90 mins is ideal.

Austerely beautiful house set amongst farm buildings. A lovely setting. But, under the stewardship of Cadw, the whole is conceived as bereft of functional actual interest and is trivialised totally with patronisingly educational naff domestic props and idiot trappings of its current use as a venue for hire. Fire Cadw, engage a local person with perhaps a little bit of history to lock and unlock the interior to interested persons. Accept that for the welter of tourists the building is plain, of course stripped of the material signs of use, and credit them with some imaginative intelligence not substituted for with plastic food and fairy lights.

Wasn't sure what to expect, so we were pleasantly surprised. Decent parking area with an overspill which we had to use. A converted barn building serves as visitor area / shop / toilets and cafe upstairs. Across the road is the Court and behind that, the castle.
Well presented and restored / maintained buildings that largely are intact and easily navigable for able bodies. A bit of imagination is needed to make sense of some of the space if the offered audio guide is declined.
The remnants of the castle are within the grounds of the court although some parts are attached to the farm but the main residence was the tower.
Utilised the cafe, not a wide menu but that is probably a good thing as food was cooked fresh upon ordering. Seating is available as picnic tables outside if the weather is warmer, it wasn't, so we sat upstairs.

Lovely place and such a pleasure to see a a reconstructed medieval manor . Weather was very pleasant and the house and gardens looked idyllic. Cadw provided on site guides and friendly staff to assist you.
There was a good sized carpark, toilets and an upstairs cafe in the old barn. Easily accessible off the A40 although the lane is a little narrow . A hidden gem in Wales.

Delightful place that we missed despite passing by a few times. Staff are great - very helpful. Lovely quiet place with loads of atmosphere. There were musicians playing period music and they were explaining the instruments and what they were playing. Don't drive past, go in and have a look.

Sympathetically restored, with helpful information throughout the site using handy little handsets. Pretty garden to wander round. Staff incredibly attentive and helpful. Ended with food in lovely cafe and all in all an excellent experience.

An unplanned visit but Raglan castle was not available. Far far better than Raglan. A stunning restoration of a medieval fortified Manor. As a group of archaeologists we were given the full works. Wonderful restoration with period artifacts. A very knowledgeable guide who related history and fables with great aplomb.

Friendly staff member showed us across to the house and how to use the audio guides which gave information about each room with the option of more detail if required.
We were very lucky that it was a beautiful day and for most of the time we enjoyed the house and castle completely alone.
Very nice cafe with reasonably priced tempting menu (tuna melt with salad and crisps £5.50, egg butty £3) and clean toilets. The shop had nice quality souvenirs again reasonably priced.
Having been an NT member for fifty years and Cadw member only one year, I would say it's one of the best presented properties we've ever visited and would certainly visit again.

Fabulous historical place to visit and Dog Friendly on the ground floor of the house and the grounds & castle ruins.

An interesting well preserved building. The Great Hall has been nicely restored. Rather expensive to visit as a family.
