Having driven over 300miles to visit
Truro Cathedral we arrived just before midday to be told the Cathedral was closing in 5 minutes for three hours for staff training. Acknowledged there had been little public information about this event. A semi invalide member of our party was denied access to the facilities- Does this ‘C hristian and caring’ attitude sum up the Church of England?

We visited over Easter Bank Holiday which is a busy time for a christian religious building. Very spiritual and like many catherdrals in the UK very ornate with lots of history and workmanship. Small in comparison to the like of Lincoln cathedral and York minster, but on a par with exeter cathedral. The highlight was the reredos screen - this was amazing. The workmanship and skill was immense. There is a little descriptor which details the persons within the screen and the parables within. We're not religious people but honestly, it is a sight to behold. Another gem is the tinworth panel, not in an obvious place, you may miss it, but the carpentry and attention to detail is amazing. Almost like viewing a painting and discovering little details you would not see at first value.

Beautiful cathedral, the highlight was always lunch in the restaurant. BUT they closed it, relocated it to the shop still a nice coffee and cake. Not large enough, mid week on a wet day we watch 8 people walk away, as no room, the ladies were as lovely as ever. worse still the shop is not in a dark corner, too dark to even look around the poor lady working look like she been lock in a dungeon and the toilets a long way. Bring back the restaurant

Where do I start ? Such a beautiful Cathedral in a lovely little City my Boyfriend and I wandered around looking at all the wonderful architecture not sure of the date it was built as some of it seems quite modern compared to other parts but non the less a nice place to spend a rainy Monday afternoon in February

Amazing cathedral with some great architecture and stain glass windows. The building was great and some great displays which were informative. Well worth a look.

Arrived and was greeted by a volunteer tour guide. Who explained about the church within the cathedral.
A church in a church. I took in the calmness and the 2 different churches. Unfortunately the shop and restaurant where closed for refurbishment and they had a pop up coffee shop in the wing. Everyone was very friendly and respectful.

Although a modern Cathedral, the architecture is worth viewing.
It has a nice shop and a cafe.
I went for a Kilo sale and tbh I don't think it's appropriate for a place of worship.
Previously I've been to the Christmas Carol concerts and they have been absoulutey lovely.

A fascinating and enigmatic building that represents a 19th Century copy of much earlier gothic architectural styles, ending up not so much an accurate representation as an insight into Victorian views. Beautiful building though with hidden detail throughout.

Visited when we were in Truro, a lovely walk around and the people were very friendly! Wasn’t too busy and suitable access for a double pram.

Just looked on their website and this is what they say on their faqs page-
CAN I BRING MY DOG TO THE CATHEDRAL?
Unfortunately only Assistance Dogs can be admitted to the cathedral. There is one exception for one day of the year, The Pets Carol Service where all pets can attend along with their owners

Just to let you know that Truro is a city, it has a cathedral. There are smaller cities than Truro.

Truro is a city as it has a cathedral. I think St David's in Wales is the smallest city as it too has a cathedral.
