One of our favourite places when we visit Skipton. we had a cake and coffee. All excellent in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. There was a class going on upstairs which looked great.

I visited with a friend for Monday lunch. We ordered lasagne and a sandwich. The lasagne arrived in a good sized dish with a side salad and looked appetising. The cost of the lasagne was just under £9. I have intolerances to dairy and egg so requested a vegan cheese sandwich with ham on brown bread. The sandwich arrived and consisted of 2thin slices from a brown loaf with a slice of vegan cheese and a thin slice of ham alongside half a plate of lettuce and a very small halved tomato at a cost of over £9. I had expected a good sized sandwich with good quality chunky bread as it actually cost more than the lasagne! I couldn’t believe that they actually charged me extra for a measly bit of ham. Think I was mugged there.

I think Coffee & Clay is style over substance.
This would be a great activity for locals, if you can afford a minimum of £11 for a small ceramic. Unfortunately, we only found out after we had completed that they take a whole week to fire the pieces in the kiln. We had to pay £8 for postage to our ongoing destination as the pieces wouldn’t be ready before the end of our holiday. Unfortunately, they don’t/can’t take any responsibility for broken pieces in the post, making it all feel like an expensive anti-climax/waste of time.
For over £60 for a family of four there are probably better things to do with kids. We weren’t given any advice, top tips or inspiration to make the activity more enjoyable, which I think would make it feel better value for money.
We would not return or recommend.
(Worth noting the cake was nice but the coffee was not, so wouldn’t visit as a cafe either unfortunately).

Called here for brunch today on a busy market day. We were happy that we got an indoor table.
After a quick look at the menu I ordered at the counter. Our drinks arrived promptly and the coffee was excellent and gave us both a lift.
My husband thoroughly enjoyed his sausage sandwich and my toasted teacake was lovely and fruity.
The cafe has a great ambience and is one of the better places for food in Skipton. I like the idea of the pottery painting. I've never come across this before and it would be a fun day out for adults and children. We will call again.

Excellent Food, Pleasant Surroundings.
We Really Enjoyed our lunch in this loverly Friendly Cafe, our order was taken and our food arrived quicly, it was Hot and Plentiful and Delicious.
Good Value for Money and well worth a second visit if we are ever in the area again.

Went to Skipton for the afternoon, wanted something lite to it. We had cheese tosties (even have vegan option available). Lots to choice on the menu, lovely food and great service. Definitely recommend calling in here.

Available after 2 pm this meal is excellent value for money, great speedy service. Very friendly staff. Lovely choice of sandwiches, scones, cakes, shortbread and either tea or filter coffee. ( refills included) . We could not find fault with it and would highly recommend the cafe. Looking forward to another visit,

Went for a bite to eat.
Not a good experience
Ordered food ( a salad and a ham/cheese toastie) and sat outside as it was a beautiful day.
Drinks arrived promptly ( apple juice was very poor quality)
30 minutes later , went inside to find out what was happening with the food order.
Tills were checked and visit made by some one to the kitchen.
The reply was that the kitchen printer was not working so the order had not reached the kitchen.
Makes you think what exactly was happening in the kitchen if orders were not getting through.
Was advised they would do it straightaway.
When I asked how long would it be, the only man in the cafe did not understand me and rather then ask me to repeat, he rudely asked an assistant ‘ what did he say’. The assistant had understood me and repeated my question.
The man said one minute.
I found that unbelievable as a ham and cheese toastie takes more then one minute.
We waited for the food, again, and the salad arrived first.
It was average.
Then they brought out a ham and cheese sandwich, when we had in fact ordered a toastie.
The sandwich went back and eventually the toastie arrived.
We did ask and got a complimentary coffee as the first one had gone cold with all the waiting.
My overall experience—hated it

Visited 5/3/22 , 6 of us as a birthday treat for me - no children all adults. What a great experience- lovely friendly setting, tasty drinks and cakes, and the pottery painting was great fun! Huge choice of items to paint and all equipment needed was provided . Just a lovely fun relaxing way to spend a morning , definitely going again!
