Leeds and Liverpool Canal is a water channel in the center of Skipton, a town in the middle of England. In fact, if you walk around the town, the castle, the market, I am sure you will see this place. It is ok, I came here in winter and I think that it is not possible to go with a boat, but in summer you can. A nice water channel, not more.

We cruised the Leeds and Liverpool Canal by hiring a narrow boat for 2 weeks and the weather was brilliant, the scenery fantastic.
Many good eateries on the way too. Not much cooking for us, we were on holiday!

A interesting circular walk alongside the canal, over bridge and back into town. Several houseboats and you can also book a trip on the river. Enjoyed seeing the reflections and different buildings

The walk along the canal is so interesting, in parts you see all the barges and there's quite a lot of very old buildings. If you take a left turn over the bridge you get to see the rather large housing estate and back into Skipton

took a half hour trip, just £4 per person, lovely and peaceful. feeding ducks and swans, highly recommended

We were staying beside the canal in Skipton, so made use of it to walk around. There were lots of swans and boat trips on it.
In terms of attractiveness its ok, certainly more pleasant than the grimier canal side areas in some of the cities, but I don't think you are missing much if you didn't see it.

A walk along the towpath from Skipton to Gargrave and back. Nice and flat and easy going pathways, nothing too strenuous. Nice to see the barges, and everyone is so friendly, makes you proud to be from Yorkshire ❤️

Take two canal trips in different directions. Reasonably priced and commentary on hour trip wonderful.

Walked into Skipton along the tow path for about 40 minutes. Very clean and safe with a varied landscape including countryside views. Nice to see a number of barges going to and fro.

Hi, We are picking up a boat in August from Silsden boats and we are not having a lot of success finding information about pubs to stop and eat or moor up too along the way . Any suggestions much appreciated.We will be heading towards Skipton.

If you moor close in to Skipton you don't have to wander far before you find a pub and pretty much all of them are good ... not that I frequent them all but I've not heard a bad word ... Personally I would recommend The Narrowboat or The Woolly Sheep from my own experience. Hope you enjoy Skipton and hope the weather stays fine, x
