Tagg lane is a family run dairy farm which has a small cafe and make their own ice cream. Their ice cream is made in small batches (so they can't just open another tub if someone requests it as prior previous review- the ice cream also isn't in tubs).
Every time we visit they have different flavours to try and I have never had a bad ice cream from there. It's creamy, delicious and you can tell that no false flavourings are used.
It can get mega busy at times as it is very popular so expect some queuing.
From one dairy farmer to another- well done on such a quality product and such a successful business.

Just spoken to a rude man. I rang to enquire where to find a list of ice cream ingredients on the website and he quite aggressively informed me that their ice cream is not for people with intolerances.

We visited during a trip to Bakewell as it was warm and we were looking for ice cream. There was a long queue but it moved steadily and the quality and taste of the gelatos more than made up for it!
We tried strawberries and cream, salted caramel, vanilla and stracchiatella flavours and they were all excellent, the strawberries and cream coming with pieces of strawberry and generous chunks of chocolate to boot. At £3.75 for a single scoop and £5.40 for a double it's a little more expensive than a Mr. Whippy but you certainly get what you pay for!
Just one caveat, they melt really, really fast so make sure you're ready to eat them as soon as you leave the counter!

We travelled here with our young family of which a number of are coeliac and have to follow a gluten free diet. Our daughters were incredibly upset that we had to leave without their ice creams as to our surprise they couldn't accommodate our dietary requirements and were unwilling to even try and accommodate us. They could easily accommodate our family or any other coeliac or someone with a gluten intolerance by something as simple as opening a new tub and using clean utensils to avoid cross contamination.

I visited tagg lane last summer when we visited the Peaks and came again this year because their ice cream is delicious, as is their jersey milk.
This year we saw a sign saying they had burgers, and having left our bbq plans rather to the last minute we went in to get some; a decision we did not regret! They were absolutely delicious and I will remember that for next year.
I had the dog with me, but husband and son were able to do the shopping and we sat and watched the lovely cows.
There is plenty of parking, plenty of flavours of ice cream to choose from and therefore a great place to treat your kids, young and old.

Lovely stop on our day out. Easy to find and lots of parking. The ice cream Is amazing and came home with some milk too. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Saw the farm in passing, decided to pop in for a look. WOW what a place. Incredibly clean, efficient and genuinely happy to help. We knew the ice cream was going to be good when we saw the queue, my wife waited several minutes to get served while we sat comfortably outside, when the treat arrived we all agreed it's the best ever, I had cherries and sauce bursting with flavour, very smooth not at all grainy like high street types. 10/10 from all of us.

Gosh this dairy is amazing.
The best ice cream I’ve ever had in my life all made on the premises from the jersey cows milk fresh from their very own dairy
The staff were absolutely fantastic so friendly and welcoming
But the best part was to see the jersey cows they are beautiful
Definitely well worth a visit
Lovely place. I’ll be back again soon

Some of the best ice cream I have had in a long time. Top the day off by buying Tagg lanes rib eye steaks which is some of the best steak I have ever cooked.

Fabulous ice cream staff lovely and friendly and out door seating - we went Saturday morning and no queue, we have been in the afternoon and the queue was HUGE! Heard people say that it tends to get busy 3pm onwards so maybe worth considering going when less busy (there was also LOADS of choice as it was about 10.30am !) Ice-cream divine and the milk - WOW! Yo even get to se the cows being milked too :-)

One visitor says the coffee is expensive. How much is a simple white Americano? I see that Chatsworth demand £2.60, pretty cheeky but they do have you over a barrel. . .

We use ethically grown coffee here at Tagg Lane. Every coffee uses Jersey milk fresh from the day. This is very unique and make a quality beverage.
