This was one of the highlights of our recent trip to Ireland. We booked online the day before and they were expecting us when we arrived. We spent 2/3 hours before a visit to the coffee shop. We went around at our own pace and thankfully it was not very busy. So many interesting aspects to enjoy and we would thoroughly recommend the whole experience

Christy Keating was a fantastic source in searching for our Irish Forbearers. We last saw him 9 years ago and he directed us to a source, Joe Creedon, in Inchigeelagh, the birthplace of my Great-Grandfather. This year we went to thank him for his help and he is still a marvel! The Queenstown Story is well worth a visit and a visit to Christy a MUST!

Overall great experience and nice staff! Would totally recommend to anyone looking to learn more about their Irish heritage. One thing I would say is that they have little to no souvenirs that are directly related to the heritage museum, humor even a post card of the museum. Would have been nice to have something to remind me of the experience.

Very informative about the ships that left from Cobh (aka Queenstown at times), as well as the history of the area. This includes the Titanic. Also the Lusitania recovery was based there.

This was an excellent visit! I learned so much history regarding emigration - well-designed displays that were easy to read. The sections on the Titanic and the Lusitania were also very well done. The staff were helpful and extremely welcoming. I highly recommend this to any visitors to Ireland. Also, the town of Cobh is delightful; it is very scenic with beautiful views at the top of the hill. The hike up to see the church is well worth the climb.

This place was fascinating: there's information on Titanic and Lusitania, of course, but I also learned a lot about Irish emigration and transportation and liked the immersive exhibits. If you're interested in Irish history, this is a must.

This exhibition is so informative about the Irish emigration and the potato famine, various maritime disasters including the Titanic. An immersive experience with life size models and recordings giving us the feeling we were right there in time. From the outside it doesn’t look big but the Heritage centre is vast and very well presented. A must see for anyone visiting Cohb. Staff friendly and helpful and a really nice cafe at the end of our visit where we had a delicious cream tea. Well done!

a very original museum in the old Cobh station, the story traces the period of immigration to the Americas of thousands of Irish. Very nice to visit

My family will be in Cork over the upcoming Easter weekend. We would like to visit the Cobh Heritage Centre on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017. What hours will the centre be open that day? Using public transportation to visit from Cork, will the train schedule be impacted by the religious holiday? Does the cruise ship industry use this port all year long? Should one expect much cruise ship passenger traffic at the center on Easter Sunday?

1. The Heritage Centre will be open on Easter Sunday 9.30 to 18.00
2. The Trains schedule will be the normal Sunday times
3. There will be no Cruise Liners in on that day - there will be one in on the
following day (Monday)

I had sent a note to the genealogy person but have not gotten a response to my inquiry. We will be at your center on Aug. 15th. in the am. I would like to work with a genealogist as this was what is bringing to Ireland. I was told that you do not always have on available. Would someone please get back to me on this. Thank you, Diane

I don't get involved with that sort of stuff, however I did note that there wasn't a facility available at the visitor centre as far as I could see. There were some very good displays and really good information about the Titanic herself, life on board tc.

My husband and I will be in Cobh on Wednesday August 12. Our ship arrives at 10 AM. Can we purchase tickets in advance to the Heritage Centre? What is the cost of tickets? Thank You.

Thankou for your enquiry. yes, tickets may be purchased online using paypal on our website . Unfortunately our site is down for a few days so do not purchase until the end of the week at least. Tickets can also be purchased when you arrive in Cobh and we are situated right beside the quay where you will berth. Tickets are €9.50 per person ( €7.50 for seniors).
