There is a nice pond with ducks and swans. We walked around it a few times. There is a playground for kids. At peak times, there is a visitor centre and coffee shop. This was closed when we visited. Note that the car park costs €2 to exit. You must have one or two euro coins. With no coffee shop for change, not sure what happens if you go in without coins.

A beautiful Pond full of Ducks to have a little walk around (5 mins walk) suitable for all ages and abilities
Loads of resting places around lake for a picnic
Excellent playground for all age groups, children visible throughout the whole playgroup for parents to sit and relax while keeping an eye on children
Lovely little bits and pieces of the Fairies dotted around the pond

Lovely place, we went for a walk around the pond and got to see a lot of cute ducks and ducklings! Unfortunately it started raining so had to leave. The fairy garden was really cute too

I love it here and have been taking my 3kids here for 7yrs.lovely walk around the pond followed by a nice coffee and a play on the park for the kiddies.

Went recently to meet a friend, had a stroll, started to lash (typical!), went to the cafe for a nibble, was lovely and cozy. Will be back

I take my son to Stephenstown pond regularly. It is a lovely place, especially in the summer when there are lots of birds. There is a great play area for children and a very nice cafe. The area is scattered with fairy houses and other memorabilia.

They were getting ready for Christmas and Santa. Weather was coldest but sunshine great on day we visited. We finished the day with great hot chocolate and warm brownies. These were tasty and went down a treat. There were many children enjoying themselves around. Place pretty well kept and few areas were marked off, obviously for some maintenance. Keep up the great work

Our tour driver stopped here basically for a comfort stop, but several of us took in the pond and waterfowl. This is a small park, but is part of a worthwhile cross-border initiative. The coffee/tea shop was nice, though I got to share my pastry with several flies. The restrooms were clean, which is always a plus.

Stephenstown Pond is less about the pond and more about the kids' playground and getting people into the café. The pond itself seems an after-thought. All the infrastructure that lets children get close to the water safely has been left to rot and decay so it's all taped off. Completely takes away from what would otherwise be a lovely way to get kids focused on nature. As it is it seems the car park fee is purely focused on building another generic playground/coffee shop combination. Such a shame.

Easy place to visit, you will need coins to pay for parking and there is a nice Tea and Light Snack room, We have used a wheelchair but you need to be ready for a bump or two over tree roots which adds to the natural feel, the wild waterbirds are plentiful and relaxing to watch a children's playground was added last year. It's a short easy walk around the pond.

Hi Geraldine. I didn't notice any but that doesn't mean that they are not in the pond. We were more focused on swans and other birds over there.
