Very disappointing visit to Stapleford Park Spa. This was a surprise gift for my boyfriend in the hope of having a relaxed and enjoyable day together
The main spa is separate from where the treatments are so a fair bit of being outside in our robes back and forth from the spa to the treatment rooms, back to the spa, back to the dining area for afternoon tea, it didn't seem to work logistically nor was it relaxing
The treatment itself was very good - Swedish massage
Afternoon tea was a big disappointment - we were the only ones in the dining area, no atmosphere, felt cold and unwelcoming, the food itself was unacceptable, it was very clear it had been made the day before and kept in the fridge, the scones were rock hard and not edible. I had to go down to reception to speak to the staff to tell them as there was no waiter service, they apologies and offered to get more from the main restaurant but I just wanted to leave by this point. I wouldn't go back to Stapleford Park Spa

I had this day spa as a gift
The spa stables itself is well presented
The lady on reception & welcome drink & afternoon tea was extremely polite & helpful
The service she alone provided was excellent
The pool was in the main hotel - obviously this is not an issue but as it’s in the oldest part of hall it is very dated , the sauna / steam we’re not up to standard of that price - a small wardrobe effect ! The hot tub was small & again out dated. They could upgrade the facilities within that area - I understand the listed buildings policy… but so many places now to compete with it needs reconstruction to a higher standard.
Back to the stables for the treatment, the lady was polite & treatment was average, again the standard needs to be higher , with places like Ragdale/ Eden / & many other spa experiences it’s out of touch.
The afternoon tea was average & they facilitated any dietary changes but it was in a non atmospheric manner, I don’t mind spa as a solo but it was not warm & seemed a bit strange
I could only manage to stay a few hours as nothing to do while waiting. Not the Sort of relaxing I enjoy -perhaps won’t be visiting again.

I booked this spa day experience for myself and my friend as a Birthday treat, we definitely felt like the whole experience was more 'luxurious' than other spa days we have had before. On arrival we had great service and had a hot drink while the staff explained where everything was and about the day ahead.
The treatments/spa were in a separate area to the pool, about a 5minute walk, which wasn't an issue for us as it was a lovely way to see the countryside, gardens and hotel areas, the hotel area was truly amazing to look at down to the paintings, grand hall etc, especially with the Christmas decorations still up. There were golf buggies available also which we used to take us back and forth.
The treatment I had was 'work it out' massage and it was amazing, I felt so relaxed and it was much more of a higher quality to any I've had before. The afternoon tea we had was lovely but could have been a bit of a bigger portion,
I have given a 4 star review only as I thought the spa facilities could have been better, eg there was nowhere to get a drink while relaxing by the pool, and not many places to sit by the poolside when it was busy, and the jacuzzi was a little small too.
I would definitely recommend as a treat and would love to visit again and maybe stay in the hotel!

Visited with 2 friends for the first time. Lovely building, but nowhere in any information did it say if you had disabilities there were stairs and no lift. Our friend had recently had a knee replacement and struggled with the stairs. The treatments we had were lovely though and the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. We were staying at the country hotel on the site - which again didn’t mention anywhere that it was about half a mile from the hotel. We were taken back to the hotel on a golf buggy. But don’t book thinking the spa is IN the hotel. The pool is also in the hotel so quite a disjointed trip. Signage outside the spa is sparse, so getting to the spa from the hotel was difficult as there were only a couple of small signs set into the trees to point the way.

This could be so much better but just isn’t. For a start the Main House where the pool, steam room (currently broken) and sauna is located is a good 5min walk from the Spa. So the Spa is just treatment rooms and the gym. I had a hot stone massage which was nice but not great. Stones felt lovely but the rest of it was more of an oily rub.. definitely not the ‘work it out’ on the label. The food is good but tiny portions. Coffee made from a machine is just yuck. No lemon or cucumber infused water or even a scented candle. It’s got potential but just misses the mark on so many things.

Following a lovely meal, had drinks in lovely setting with Heinrick a lovely pianist. He played Moon River and Send in the Clowns for my wife and I. Brought a tear to my eye. Excellent way to spend a Friday evening.

Beautiful decor downstairs but not worth the money
Met up with friends for an evening and the exterior and downstairs was beautiful and the staff very accommodating but the rooms were definitely not worth the money
£290 I would expect a little more in the rooms, no hankies or coffee machine, just a few small touches would have made it so much better
Lunch was lovely but the evening meal was so disorganised
No offer of wine, the portions were very small and we waited for 40 minutes for our food which mine came out cold
The biscuits and cheese was the only part of the meal that filled me up
We went for a drink at the bar where there was only one young man trying to serve everyone which took over half an hour to arrive at our table
The lounge area was so smoky from the fire that we had to find another room to sit in
We had the archery lesson which was good fun but I was very disappointed with the rooms and food

We used the warm swimming pool every day we stayed here and the only minor issues were it would be good to clock in the room to keep an eye on the time and maybe have cushions on the loungers! But the pool was lovely and warm and often had it to ourselves!😊

Old, dated, cold, worn, broken steam room. No treatments available when requested. Certainly not luxurious. The rest of the hotel is beautiful though and the setting superb!

My partner and I booked a spa day, wasn't horrific but really wasn't the best. The place looks so well put together and all the staff smartly dressed, which was ironic since most of them seemed to have no clue what was going on. We had brunch which we were asked to pre-order before the day, for which we weren't even taken to a proper table. Both our meals were tiny, cold, and didn't seem to be fresh. The portions were so small we had to order more food! Then to top that off they tried charging us a fiver each for our (machine made) coffees, which were included in the price of the day. Staff were friendly but on the whole pretty uselss. Pool area was fine but not much seating, and a little grimy.
Beautiful place, but wouldn't visit again as it wasn't worth the price and didn't seem to be very organised. Spent most of the day feeling hungry!

Can you please provide more details about the fitness facility? are there elliptical machines? do the machines have television sets on them? are there treadmills? are there free weights ? barbells? thanks

We only went for a massage there so didn't use the gym, but the environment it was set in was spectacular! Judging by the rest of the hotel and facilities, I would imagine the fitness facilities were also first class.
