If you like birds or animals or just want to have a picnic in a nice area, this is the place for you.
I could say so many wonderful things about the area and the birds but really it is the staff who make it. They are so helpful, really know their stuff and happy to talk to you. I would reccomend getting there for 11 and 2 so that you can see both flying displays as they are incredible. Very informative and the birds are beautiful.
As someone who loves bird watching it is wonderful seeing them fly and look so natural, even my family who aren't into birds agree this area is lovely and perfect for a picnic.
I have visited this place many times and I already can't wait to come again.

Though I do not really like seeing wild birds and animals in cages, this is a visit that appeals to both children and adults. The reviews of up to ten years ago are very outdated, especially that very negative one in 2012. We found the place very welcoming, clean with extremely friendly and helpful staff. They obviously care about their residents! The bijou restaurant was equally clean, food and service excellent. The meerkats enchanting. The flying displays were great. Best to check on programme the day, or day before, you go. Best to go in the summer between May and August

All the birds were very well looked after, their cages were clean with water and had plenty of room.

We took two grandchildren who were thrilled by the day, as were we. Wonderful flying display which was the best I have seen as well as being very informative. Terrific talk on meerkats pitched at a perfect level for both children and adults. Highly recommended all round.

Fantastic Experience. Clean, tidy, and well laid out with exceptionally helpful staff.
A must place to visit for both families and individuals with plenty to occupy the youngest to the oldest visitor. The caged birds are in good sized aviaries and are obviously happy with many of them breeding. The flying displays, run twice a day are of the highest quality and very informative and you may be lucky to witness training sessions with younger birds.
Your visit helps fund the Owl and Raptor Hospital where sick and injured birds of prey are brought back to health before being release back into the wild.

Sad to see such beautiful, majestic birds in such small enclosures, half of which were empty. There's plenty of space on site but needs some serious investment and mprovement. Disappointing and £39 for family of 5 was expensive.

Fantastic place. The aviaries were spotlessly clean and the birds appeared happy and contact. The flying displays were amazing with large birds of prey flying within inches of you and if you are really lucky sitting on the bench next to you.
The staff are friendly and informative. The price is very reasonable and well worth it. Great day out.
Nowhere to buy food on site but lots of picnic tables.

Fantastic place to see lovely birds. The flying display was the best I’ve ever seen With beautiful birds .The staff were excellent and did a good talk.

Lovely place. Clean and tidy. My issue is after a visit today, there are 2 Golden Eagles and they're in a nice aviary but it's not big for their size. Plus one kestrel in another and obviously other birds, some large. I wonder how they came to be here and tbh it doesn't sit well with me and although a great attraction I came away feeling sad for birds in confinement 24 hours a day, just sitting watching people and not being in natural surroundings. No criticism of staff or the centre at all, just my feeling.

On holiday in Suffolk, we saw a road sign for Stonham Barns & after research came for a visit. The week of our holiday was before the schools broke up for Easter and it showed as the site was fairly quiet however we were here to see the Owl sanctuary and it was absolutely brilliant.
After paying the entrance charge, we had to dip our footwear in disinfectant as Avian Flu was in the vicinity & as a result no flying was available. We made our way from cage to cage & at the same time our grandson was filling in a Easter egg hunt quiz. All the cages looked very clean and the grounds were being trimmed as we walked about. There was an interesting talk by a keeper on the family of Meercats. Besides owls, there is a large collection of birds of prey. In the pavilion, a keeper brought in a Snowy Owl, followed by an Eagle Owl and a Kestrel. Wonderful & beautiful birds & the keepers very knowledgeable.
