My adult kids and I had a great trip today on the zodiac with Capt. Garrett. He knows so much about the history of Long Point Bay. The wind was out of tge east so there WERE waves, but that just added to the excitement!

Super belle plage !!des km de beaux sable
L’eau est d’un beau bleu et chaude. Un paradis méconnu beaucoup moins achalandé que sandbanks.L’endroit est paisible et les vagues sont petites la température est clémentes et beaucoup d’activités plein air à faire.
Le lac est parfait pour relaxer sur un pneumatique..

Not for the faint of heart on the way out - even with the cooperation of beautiful weather! The Zodiac held 8 full sized adults and one dog named Drake. Sitting on the sides, one foot under the floor tie and hanging on tightly (life jackets too) made for a good morning wake up call - fresh splash and a little air. Garrett's commentary was very interesting and historically sound. Reaching the tip of Long Point, disembarking, walking and swimming topped off a wonderful 3 hours. The Sandbar Restaurant is also well worth the time to watch the water and have a great, fresh, meal.

Fabulous experience! I loved the boat ride and the history of Long Point as shared by Garrett. The tip was amazing! Loved swimming in the water. Totally worth it!

I waited almost 10 years to make it to the tip! It was well worth the wait. Garrett was an amazing tour guide/ captain and shared so much about the history of Long Point. It was so informative and entertaining. It was a beautiful day and an experience I will not soon forget! Thank you Garrett!!

2 day trip to turkey point to chill out after 2 weeks touring round ON. We stayed at a wilderness suite at long point eco adventures who promote this tour. This is for me one of wonders of my trip to Canada. Nothing can describe the feeling of standing on the point watching the waves crash together with Pennsylvanin US on one side and Norfolk ON on the other. Garett and Drake are both amazing. Garrett has so much local knowledge and some funny tales to tell. Drake his amazing companion kept my 8 year old company at the bow of the boat. He was an added benifit for sure. Cant thank you enough Garret for sharing this magic spot with us. Those who think they can reach the point alone good luck navigating the sandbanks.

This is the only way to visit the tip of the point. We went as a family; our ages ranging from 9 to 83, and everyone was pleased and came away with their own unique and personal experience. I am familiar with the area, and yet, there was lots I learned on the trip regarding history, geographical changes, flora and fauna. My Mom reminiscenced about the changes over the years as she was often a visitor over 40 years ago. This trip was a Christmas gift to my family, and it was truly appreciated. Thanks also to our guide to was able to answer all our questions because of his knowledge and appreciation of Long Point.

I totally enjoyed my morning with this tour. I don't own a boat, so for me this was a great way to get out to the Tip of Long Point. I am from the area and still learned lots and had a great day. The tour is exactly how it is advertised so I'm not sure how anyone can have a negative experience on this trip. Thank you for a great day!!

It's a boat ride to a secluded beach with a guide. That's the extent of it. For this 3 hour tour you pay $109/ person. Simply no value. I don't understand the rave reviews it's a zodiac ride to a beach. You get to swim/wade and look at scenery for about an hour and you head back. Maybe it's me but that seems like a lot. I could have waded in the same lake for free if I'd just gone to the beach. Port Dover has a lighthouse you can see and photograph for free. If you have the extra cash.....

My parents, my brothers and their partners, my 3 year old daughter, and I all LOVED the tour of Long Point. Our group ranged in ages from 3 years old to 62, and we all had an amazing time. My parents grew up in the Long Point area, and they loved learning new things about the area, and sharing its history with their kids and their granddaughter.
Garrett was a fantastic guide through Long Point. He used humour and his knowledge of the area's history to keep us all engaged, laughing, talking, learning, and comfortable. He has grown up in the area and is well-versed in its history and lore.
This was a great trip to take on a hot day. Garrett gave us about an hour to explore the tip of Long Point where we could go for a swim and cool down, or take a walk to the nearby lighthouse.
For our family this trip was be an exciting and exhilarating experience. Generally, my family isn't a "boating"-kind of family, so flying through Lake Erie on a zodiac-style boat was invigorating! My 3 year old daughter LOVED this part of the tour!
Our tour began promptly at 9:30AM and we arrived back on land shortly before 1PM. We brought some small snacks for the tour and lots of water for everyone. Many of us were still quite hungry when we got back. It was very wise of Garrett to locate the tour directly beside a restaurant called Sandbar On the Beach, where food is delicious.

Contact the owner/operator. He brings his lab sometimes. We didn't bring our dog though.

Their webpage says it is a 3 hour cruise but I was wondering how much of that is actually spent at the point?

Hi Gary, I know it's a bit delayed of an answer. But I just figured out how to us this. You generally get 40 minutes to an hour on the tip depending on how smoothly the boat ride goes.

Would you recommend this tour for kids? My daughter is 6.5 years old so I wasn't sure how fast/bumpy the ride was.

Hi Kprangley,
The ride can sometimes be a bit bumpy depending on the wind strength. 6-7 year olds have been on the trip before and have enjoyed it. However it's up to the parents/guardian's discretion to decide whether it's appropriate for there child. The boat itself is designed for rough water, so in general it's a lot smoother than move vessels in its class. We generally travel between 25-35km an hour (depending on wind).
