If you are expecting to be swimming or snorkeling with many fishes like in those popular videos, you will be disappointed.
Swimming not allowed in area with the fishes. You can look at them from a few meters though.
Waters are clear and great for a quick dip.
Area lacks proper shower areas after swimming.
Inside the enchanted river area, there are "island hopping" activities where you can rent a boat for 500php for 2 hours (plus 200 per excess hour) to go to the fish cage resort, rock resort, etc.
In my opinion, not worth going all the way on a plane and renting a van just to go to this place. Good for a side trip though or maybe if you are coming from Davao or Butuan.

The road is 90% good from Mis Occ until the entrance. Then, you have to walk about 500m to a white muddy road to the river. The riverbank is too narrow. The water is clear and salty maybe because of mineral deposit in the area as the soil is white like chalk. Beware during feeding time as the river current is very strong like they intentionally open blockage in the river exit. They cultured fish are mostly Indangan and Pantaan. The water is very itchy. The CR/dressing room are awful. The whole area is not conducive for tourist as it is not well managed. There is a food court with delicious seafood but cleanliness is not properly observed as flies swarm everywhere. I hope one day this area will become a tourist caliber place because nice ambience is what tourist is paying for. As of now enchanted river is a place of no return. This place is far below than Timoga Spring in Iligan City.

I first came here last 2015 and we were still able to swim in the deep parts of the river but since then Ive been worried that the constant erosion caused by the people trying to stay atthe side partof the deep side of the river would really damage the habitat of the fishes below. During my last visit, Im glad that swimming is not allowed in the deeper parts anymore! No worries though because the shallower parts are still good enough for swimming and snorkeling!

Truly enchanting! This God's creation made me realize how lucky we are to have the opportunity to enjoy nature. I love the coldness of it's water, it releases stress in your body.

エンチャンテッド リバーの先にあるホテルに宿泊するために訪れました。写真等では深い青色の川が写っていますが、私が行ったときは残念ながら濃い青色を見ることは叶いませんでした。川自体は綺麗です。時間があれば川に潜る事もしてみたいですね。

If you have a private vehicle then this is a place to go to as this is quite far. If you want to go there , come before 12noon so you wont miss the feeding time for fishes. Bring a swimming outfit if tou plan to swim there but mind you the water is quite deep so you need to rent a vest.

One of the most popular destinations in Surigao del Sur. It could get very crowded on weekends and holidays. If you would like to enjoy the river and the Hinatuan complex better get here early. Better get here before 7AM so that you could rent a hut and you can enjoy the cold waters of the Enchanted River. Enchanted River is at the mouth of the sea that's why there is a mixture of fresh and salt water.
You could go island hopping here also if you are tired of swimming at the river. There's a fish cage, a cave and a small mangrove forest to explore. It's worth seeing if you are in Surigao del Sur.

i have been here many times. the last time 5 years ago. this place is not what it used to be anymore. in the clear blue part its not allowed to swim anymore. now the cordoned it off like a swimming pool. and with the increased amount of tourist the charm is gone. also the 20 souvenire shops and the instruction before going in the pool doesnt help it anymore

The Enchanted River is located in Hinatuan which is three hours away from Butuan. I visited this place in December this year 2019 for the time. And... this place, left me speechless. The Enchanted River is truly enchanting and mesmerizing! It is so beautiful that I couldn't even stop gazing at it. The river is clean and its blue crystal clear water is so amazing. Hands down to the locals who maintain this river clean!!!! I would really love to go back to this place. The unfiltered beauty of this river is surreal!!!

The gorgeous colors of the crystal clear water and the various schools of fish that appear during feeding time make this recently discovered site a must visit. You can also have your lunch here

Yes, you can purchase food there. They will cook it for you and you just tell them what time you will eat. We bought your own plates, cutlery and cups. But I think the sari sari stores there sell them as well.

Hi. We will be visiting Enchanted River and Tinuy-an Falls with some friends, & we are planning to rent a car/SUV (self drive). I just want to know if the road condition going there is safe to be drove by someone not familiar with the road? Thanks a lot!

you wanted to stay near Enchanted River? I have no idea both inns and camping sites but the best place to stay is Bislig or in Manangoy

Is it now safe to travel from Davao City to enchanted river and also the resort itself ? I have read mixed reviews and as a foreigner have to be a bit careful I'm based in Davao city many thanks in advance .

Yes, it is safe, but I suggest that you travel at daytime. Martial law is still enforced in the area, so security is quite tight, which is good.

Last trip of Bachelor Bus from Mangagoy in Bislig (where Tinuy-an Falls are located) to Davao City is at 6:00 PM, if I remember right. Travel time is approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes. Hinatuan, on the other hand, is about an hour away from Bislig. It is farther up north. Check the website of Bachelor Bus for more details.
