Many of the indications are not true.
Signs of the route are scarce, and several rather long stretches are roadside and sometimes directly on the roadway.
There are no refreshments ( only one on the whole route )
Not recommended with children except for some stretches.

We parked in Isella na there is no indication on the route to follow. So you have to ask people who pass by and few know him.
At the end we take the road that follows the SS36. Continuing to walk we do not find signs on the road to follow to Annone. We had to search GPS and guessed the route. Approaching Annone we found the signs and from here began the beautiful path to Oggiono. The bad started when we had to do several kilometers on the busy road towards Isella. A very dangerous path. Only one km before Isella you return to the trail.

Nice quiet lake around which to take a simple and relaxing walk. We have not completed the ring (also because they say there is a piece of road) but we will return for the peace of the place. Several car parks available:

I must say that this lake, although smaller and "less famous" than others, did not disappoint us at all, given that it was the first time we had visited it.
The long lake (which has several car parks nearby) allows you to walk along the shore and you also have the opportunity to sit on the benches positioned in different points.
Excellent for a trip out of town, immersed in tranquility and away from the chaos of the city.

Near the famous Lake Como there is this lake with very quiet shores. There are nice spots for walking. The path is at times interrupted by reeds which give it a particular atmosphere.

We walked the entire 'ring' around Lake Annone on foot, clockwise, starting from the Ona di Annone area.
The stretch from Annone to Isella (km 7) runs alongside the lake through wooded areas and wetlands and never mind if for over 2 km it runs alongside the SS36 highway a few centimetres; the presence of a path protected by a large guard rail on the highway gives at least the required feeling of safety.
The stretch from Isella to Oggiono, 7km long, is the most critical! After Isella the route is still a little more protected, still next to junctions and under the highway viaduct. You pass a small bridge that crosses a canal and continue towards Sala al Barro. Here the real problems begin, the path stops at the Braceria/Pizzeria "l'Antico Cantinone", ending up on the very busy provincial road SP51 which leads towards Oggiono. Here for a stretch there is a small track behind the guard rail a few centimeters from the cars, then the guard rail ends and you would have to walk in danger with the cars and trucks whizzing past you: unbelievable! True that there are some private properties along the lake and that property is precious, but life is even more precious!
The completely exposed stretch is almost 2 km long, up to Via Dante Alighieri in Oggiono, where you still walk on the road, but at least it is secondary and with little traffic.
Some people suggest, once you reach the town of Sala al Barro, entering the town and taking the old road beyond the railway instead of staying on the busy and dangerous provincial road. It's a shame there is no pedestrian crossing on the SP51, furthermore the Sala al Barro variant (via Da Vinci + via Per la Rossa) ends in a roundabout on the provincial road and to get to via Dante you have to take the provincial road backwards again without pavements, protections and pedestrian crossings.
From the 'Stendhal' Sports Center in Oggiono, a beautiful, at times beautiful, route resumes which, passing through the hamlet of Bagnolo (the ancient wash house is noteworthy) leads to the Annone promontory, 5 km among the most beautiful of the entire route, passing through a forest and finally arriving at the Annone hill, a cocktail of rural views bordered by stone walls and fascinating historic villas, some pieds-dans-l'eau, all immersed in parks; a magical and romantic atmosphere.
In summary, at least ten km of the cycle/pedestrian path on Lake Annone are splendid, but don't walk along the Sala al Barro - 'Stendhal' Sports Center in Oggiono section, it's really dangerous!
For years it has been hoped that the municipalities of Galbiate and Oggiono will work towards completion, but nothing yet; so don't call it the 'cycle/pedestrian tour of Lake Annone', the loop is not closed! It's a shame because all it would take is a pinch of goodwill to complete this journey and make it attractive for everyone, in every season.

Pleasant to walk on the banks of this beautiful lake. The stretch we walked was very well maintained and very clean. Beautiful pre-Alpine panoramas and very pleasant views.

A small lake where you can take walks, because the lakefront is very long and well equipped.
Ideal for families with small children, but also for families with older children.
Possibility to have picnics, but (obviously) the barbecue is forbidden.
It could also be considered a romantic trip for a couple but certainly not on a Sunday.
Ample parking possibilities in the villages along the lake.
Annone is an intact town and many original buildings.

Lungo le sponde del lago c'è un percorso ciclo pedonale ben curato. Presenti cestini dei rifiuti e qualche segnalaletica. Mancano a mio parere qualche panchina e fontanella potabile. Il lago non appare balneabile quindi se cercate un posto x fare il bagno...non fa per voi

percorso ad anello di circa 15 km fatto in bici; qualche salitella ma tutto sommato abbordabile anche per chi come me non è un ciclista perfetto. Moltispazi per fermarsi e anche per fare pic-nic.
Fermata al Parking della Fornace e poi si inizia andando a destre. Da ricordarsi che il parcheggio ha pocchi posti auto ....solo 20

No, non è possibile, la regolamentazione comunale lo vieta, come vieta il campeggio su tutto il territorio, inoltre sia il lago che i terreni circostanti sono tutti privati.

Domani giorno di Pasquetta vorrei fare una passeggiata al lago di Annone . Da dove parte esattamente la passeggiata lago ? Pensavo di prendere la superstrada 36 e uscire ad Annnone. Ma poi una volta arrivata ad Annone che percorso faccio ? E dove posso parcheggiare l'auto ?
