I’m a 27 year old and went here for my birthday! Mainly for my 10 month old as I wanted him to experience a steam train journey with his grandparents. Upon arrival we noticed it was decorated all halloweeny which was lovely!
We all enjoyed the gallopers and and 3 steam train rides! The little arcades and fair ground rides are somewhere you definitely have to check out, it was very nostalgic and I got to take my little boy on some of the rides that I used to go on as a little girl! There was a soft play area, with toy trains, foam shapes to climb on and a mini fire engine for littlies to get into! The inside halls that you can look around were pretty cool and set out like a little old time village.
We all enjoyed the gallopers and and 3 steam train rides! A great place to visit something for all ages
I went with a coach trip and my ticket encompassed everything.
I particularly went to view the gardens which were outstanding and met a very helpful garden worker for a chat about particular varieties, soil conditions and his advice for good growers of a particular plant that grows well in our south facing garden. Lots of ideas of what to grow and Bressingham trial many new varieties, hence the numbers not the names on the plant labels. Beautifully laid out with lots of grassy areas, and many benches some in shady areas.
The museum featuring old mail trains and vehicles and machinery of yesteryear - fascinating. Up some steps to a miniature railway set out up, Dad’s Army display including Pike’s you stupid boy! Scarf, along with videos.
Outside the carousel, train rides, play areas, cafes, and just about everything to enjoy a great day out for all ages. Highly recommended

My friend and I had an extremely enjoyable day here, staying over 5 hours.
There were 2 different train rides running on the day (one steam and one diesel) which took us on a 20 minute scenic journey. If you missed anything the first time round, trains ran on the half hour and trips were unlimited. Rides were also available on the very decorative Gallopers carousel .
With plenty to see in the museum, engine house and signal box this was an excellent day out, particularly for steam enthusiasts and those wishing to indulge in some good old nostalgia.
Just a couple of slight negatives - we were a little disappointed that the 3rd train, which takes you through the gardens, wasn’t running. Also, although we only had coffee and cake, we did feel that the cafe was a little over-priced and limited.

We visited here with a relation who had vouchers for entry. Usually this wouldn’t be a major point, but I would not pay the full entry price, it just wouldn’t be worth the fee. For a discounted fee it was an enjoyable couple of hours. The trains go out to a paddock and around some fields, there isn’t really much to see on them but are a nice ride. The museum itself was great to look around and was really enjoyable.
The gallopers were a strange sight, seeing them go round with no children at times and instead full of retirees, but it was great to see everyone enjoying them.

On entry was only quoted the 1 price which included a donation to the museum.
Having spoken to other people I found out I could have bought cheeper tickets which did not include the donation. As a pensioner this was money we could ill afford.
Although the museum was fantastic, sadly this left a nasty taste.

We went on Saturday 16th September as a result of seeing the documentary on Ch5. We were not disappointed. On a lovely warm day we took our time viewing the exhibits, the museum and enjoying rides on the steam trains. Brought back memories of my childhood without the blacken face and grit in my eyes. All staff (permanent and volunteers) were extremely friendly and helpful. The gardens were beautifully laid out...
I can recommend the museum unreservedly and caters for young and old alike.

We loved this museum, it is nostalgic and brings back memories of days gone by. Great coffee and yummie cheese scones.
Plenty for children to do. Loved the train ride and great fun on the gallopers for all the family.
Didn't realise how beautiful the gardens were. Simply stunning!

Spent the whole day here with my daughter and my Grandchildren a 3yr old and a baby. We had a fantastic day and spent a lot more time here than we expected too. Great that the entry ticket included unlimited rides on the trains 3 we’re running that day they vary from 10-15 mins a lot longer than expected and take you on scenic trips round the site. Also includes 3 rides on the the galloping horse ride. No having to keep paying out for rides we did 5 train trips 😀 one very happy Grandson. Café reasonably priced no GF though

Although it was not a full steam day we had a wonderful day with grandchildren.
They loved the train and the gallopers.
The static displays especially the Dad's Army display were fascinating.
We ate in the garden centre next door as we wanted a main meal but had icecream later.
A great day out.

Our Gallopers roundabout built in 1897 can be both steam and electrically operated. We tend to steam on event days, some Sundays and Bank Holidays.
We are open for Christmas Specials, but the site won't be open as a whole until Easter 2016.

As far as I know you just can't. It's nearer to diss than thetford I think but right out in the middle of nowhere. You have to drive unfortunately .
