Beautiful temple complex which can be reached via ern long wide staircase. The view is amazing and very beautiful temples where you can wander through and around.

In June 2024 as part of a daily excursion we visited the so-called Tiger cave. There are temples in a garden and inside the rock there is the cave, where according to the legend monks saw a tiger. We had a delicious fresh coconut juice at this place. It is definitely an interesting place to visit.

What a discovery. The site is just great, simple and great. Far from the hustle and bustle of BKK temples, the monuments and views are breathtaking.

It seems a lot of reviews here are actually reviewing the Tiger Cave Temple in Krabi, which created some confusion prior to visiting! I was expecting over 1000 steps, but this was not the case. This Tiger Cave Temple is about a 30 minute drive from the River Kwai Bridge. There are very steep steps to the top, but they number only about 150. There is another walk up to the right, where the steps are not quite as steep. Alternatively, there is a paid trolley you can take to the top, although it was not working the day we attended.
Certainly this temple is worth a visit. The steps are manageable (even in heat) and give way to beautiful views over the rice fields as well as the stunning architecture of the temple itself. There is a small shop at the top for drinks or souvenirs, there are also toilets at the ascent. (Many more shops are on the roadside opposite the car park)
We went in the morning and it was moderately busy, but most larger tour groups seemed to be arriving as we were leaving. Enjoyable morning out, probably only allocate a couple of hours max to this activity though.

A little away from the city center, this temple is worth a visit. Entrance is free, there are quite a few people who visit the place, especially locals. It is a very pretty temple with several floors and pretty paintings on each floor. A beautiful view of the surroundings.

The temple is beautiful. The entrance to the temple has many things for sale. Inside the temple you will find a long staircase leading up to the main temple. Looking down at the top, the view is very beautiful, surrounded by rice fields and, most importantly,... Then you must come and pay respect to the large Buddha image in the blessing posture for good fortune.

Climbing stairs to see something beautiful is part of Thailand, I believe 😜

A large temple complex with the infamous stairs to the Wat Tham Suae... it is a tough trip and taking water is highly recommended! I am not in good shape myself, but I do have perseverance. If I can do it, anyone can :). The posts indicate how many steps you have already walked, which helps enormously!! Definitely worth doing!

This is a beautiful temple and well worth visiting. There is a huge golden buddha and lots of different temples. You can climb up to the top of one and be rewarded with splendid views. Very serene and beautiful.

Hi, planning to head here when I'm in Kanchanaburi this coming Nov. I heard you could take a longtail boat from Bridge over the River Kwai, or you can come by song taew? Does anyone have details on transport method i.e. price and distance or which is more convenient? Thank you!

Renting an motorbike will be cheapest option. Songtaew is alright. Not sure of the price for Songtaew n boat. Wat is around 200 meters off the shore. River is big n dont think its possible to stop near the wat shores. If going by boat you will end up taking an tuk tuk from the drop off point to the wat. Most common option is bike or guided tour package with the minibus. ~45mts from the city to Wat by bike under hot sun round the year.
