Absolutely amazing pub.
It's always a regular stop when we visit St Helens. Their beer and gin selection is brilliant and the staff are always friendly.
This time we went specifically to try their pizzas.
They were flying out and very popular. Luckily we got there a good hour beforehand and ordered quick. Wow, I'm so glad we did.
It was most definitely worth it.
We got a couple between our table and they did not disappoint. We wish we had ordered one each now.
We'll 100% be back!

I was having a great time in the cricketers as I have over the years .but yesterday was enough. I was out with my daughter s boyfriend watching the rugby so we decided to order pizza from the bar thought great so we waited and waited then went to the bar to see we're our pizza s are .the member of staff said it's on its way great really looking forward to this .by this time four people had ordered pizza after us and they had all ready received there s .so I went to see we're our food was .when I ask the owner about our food by this time we had waited an hour an half I was spoken to as if I was a peace dirt under his shoe not acceptable I my eyes after spending a lot of money In there and to treated in this not good

Have been here a couple of times now and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a nice local pub that serves a great choice of ale/lager/cider, so if you fancy a simple visit to a pub, then it’s a good choice 👍

Not been here for a while and previously always enjoyed the atmosphere and beer; however, extremely disappointed on my last visit due to the awful stench of cigarette smoke coming from the smoking area.
The smoking area is essentially an annexe to the main building with no natural barriers, smoke permeates throughout the lounge and it stinks.
Another unhappy customer who ironically is a smoker complained that the smoking area is too enclosed, I rest my case!

Been to the cricks today. Sat with my husband outside under the canopy no social distancing, as we were sat at a round table which seats eight under normal circumstances, however people just came over and sat at our table some asked and we obliged, others helped themselves. My point being is that we were rubbing shoulders with people who are not within our bubble and not the legal 1 metre apart. lots of people were not wearing masks ( not enforced) including the landlord when walking around. there must not be a no swearing policy as the foul language was disgusting. Will not be spending my well earned money here as an NHS worker. Although would like to say thanks to bar staff who were very efficient.
Being more pedantic ,( although I am a smoker myself), you can smoke whilst in the rear courtyard, but when the canopy is down according law this area is too enclosed.

Lovely place been before only downside staff seemed to be bit lapse a daisy . Seemed to serve customers who had drinks already not new customers who were waiting

Well looked after my manager and his staff, in particular Karen. Enjoyed the chocolate orange stout and the brewed on site stout. Covid protocols followed, lovely clean ladies toilet, as always, and very happy customers sharing the socially distanced space. Looking forward to our next trip, thank you to the manager for always providing top class ales and a very safe environment. Absolutely love The Cricketers and so glad it's reopened after lockdown. Wishing the manager and his team all the success in the world.

Such a cosy, beautiful Pub! I've actually never been in here until the lockdown lifted and I must say it was a very pleasant visit, Drink options fantastic, lovely staff and amazing ambience!

Friendly place, and full of great choices for beers. Real fire on in winter time, gives it a cosy feeling. Often busy but there is a reason for it. CAMRA discount but Beer Price good, with helpful tasting notes on beer clips and for those who like Gin there is in the Region of 50 gins on offer. Simple but tasty pies on offer.
