ist auch hier der zweite Besuch eine Art Offenbarung. Schönes, das einem beim ersten Mal nicht auffiel, wird nun präsent. %00 Jahre Madonna von Donaueschingen gehört auch dazu!

Schöne Kirche direkt an der Donauquelle. Wunderschöner Altar und Heiligenfiguren. Durchaus ein Besuch wert in Donaueschingen.

für die Gegend. Erklärt sich aber aus der Geschichte und dem böhmischen Einfluss. Die Einrichtung ist eher spartanisch, die Altäre und das Taufbecken und der zugehörige Aufsatz allerdings ein Gedicht. Ein wirkliches Schmuckstück, das man gesehen haben sollte.

Die Kirche in der Nähe der Donauquelle wurden zwischen 1724 und 1747 im Stile des böhmischen Barockes errichtet. Der gewaltige Hochaltar wurde 1751 fertiggestellt. Insgesamt macht das Bauwerk einen hervorragenden Eindruck, für dessen Innenbesichtigung man sich schon Zeit nehmen sollte. Hochaltar, Fürstenloge, Seitenaltäre, Kanzel und Orgel - alles ist sehenswert.

Hi, I am trying to locate a "life-size" carving of Jesus on the cross carved from carrara marble carved by my great, great grandfather, Joseph Pfeiffer who migrated to the USA about 1860,. I am told it graces the "churchyard at Donaueschingen." I am planning a trip to your area and hope to locate it so I can visit and photograph it. I could not find it in any of the photographs posted on TripAdvisor for St Johann Church. If this is the correct "churchyard," could you please send me a photo to show me what kind of condition it is in. Dankeschon. John Putnam
