A pligrim spot turned to tourist spot. min 1 hr required for to and fro.
Morning 8 am it opens, 4.30 it closes, Entry restricted through tickets.
Soft trek.
The path is marked in paint..
At the end of trek a sufi's tomb can be seen
But at the highest point it has good view points

Nothing much to see in Thangal Para. Lot to walk. Barren hill. Not advised to go during summer time. You don't miss anything by skipping this location.

A Muslim pilgrim center in Vagamon, Thangalpara is the 'Dargah' or the final resting place of the Sufi saint Hasrat Sheikh Fariduddin Baba, who reached Kerala 800 years ago. The bottom of the rock has a masjid. One can visit the saint's tomb. Thangalpara is also an excellent trekking destination, and is approximately 400 foot high trekking. An average healthy person can easily trek up. The views from the top is worth the pain.
Entrance is free. The place opens up at 8.00 am for visitors.

If you are visiting wagamon, Thangal hills is a must visit. misty hills with great atmosphere. a great spot to pass the evening.

We have to hike for about a km in the rocky hill to reach the Thangal Paara. A big rock resting at the edge of a cliff. There's also a small open mosque below the rock.
There's no steps and only arrow markings on the rocks to reach the top. So it's not a advisable place of visit for senior citizens.

This hill is full of rock and it is fun climp the rock in the morning. You will easly spend an hour in this spot. Fantastic view from this hill top. On the way to this Thangal hill can find few best view points where the view of greenary and hills are breathtaking. Worth a trip on jeep.

The place is very near to vagamon, its a Pilgrim center, a very hard task to reach the top, always try to go this place on morning or evening not prefer to go after noon because it's too sunny & tiered while you climbing, people how all are going to vagamon please donts miss this place .

'Thangalpara' is What they say,is situated some distance from vagamon Town,Best you can go by your own vehicle.Actually i Advise you to not take Jeep rental in vagamon because all the roads leads to attractions are very good.Unless you are inexperienced in hills driving or Don't want to ask the locals for the directions.This Thangalpara is one of the main attraction of vagamon.You can go up to the peak of this small mountain easily.There are yellow arrow guide marks upto the top.The time we visited there was a heavy Mist.Can't even see beyond 5 feet.We throughly enjoyed it.A must Visit for all people!.

It is 35 kms from Palai (Pala) and Pala is 45 kms from Kumarakam. Minimum 2.5-3 hours

3 hrs by car.(speed - 50 km/hr)
Route - kumarakom - kottayam - pala - erattupetta - wagamon - thangal hill
According to the traffic condition at kottayam town & pala town , the travel hour will change.
thangal hill is situated near wagamon meadows(must see destination - selected by national geographic channel). Plan atleast a one day tour. should reach there by morning 10 am.(now its vey hot by 12 noon to 3 pm so that you could not walk long distance). FYIP - most of the places are supposed to view by casual walk.
From 12 noon to 3 pm u can visit pine forest where it is very cool & can take lunch from nearby ' summer sand hotel '. After 2.30 pm u will get only biriyani here.
