Lungchok in North Sikkim seems a small insignificant village but Kabi has a very significant place in the history of Sikkim because this is where the “blood brotherhood treaty” was signed between the Lepcha Chief and Bhutia King in the 13th Century and the first steps towards forming the state of Sikkim was initiated. The Sacred Grove where the treaty was signed stretches roughly over 3 km from the highway towards Mangan to the River Bakcha.
Mt. Kangchenjungha, was held as witness to the treaty wherein the two tribes proclaimed to remain as blood brothers. The place where the treaty was signed can still be visited in the forests of Kabi.

The Lungchok valley is located near Lokdara, Chujachen. The valley is a known trekking site and also famous for the breathtaking views of its surroundings.
The Sacred Grove of Kabi where the treaty was signed is marked by some beautiful statues. The tranquility within the forests and the sanctity of the place would help to discover your inner peace. Some of the most notable sightseeing options from Kabi Lungchok are Phodong Monastery, Phensang Monastery, Seven Sisters Waterfalls and the sacred Tingchim Lake.
