Very informative. Admission free of charge with the Kufsteincard. Hero organ unique. We were captivated by this visit for about 3 hours.

The fortress is an ordinary fortress, nothing special, except perhaps that the footpath is covered.
Please note: the organist can only be seen by stopping at the entrance (after ticket entry). This was not communicated. Too bad. The climb is easy.
The curation is poor, none of the interactive offers worked (19.8.2024). Admission is unorganized: with the KufsteinCard access is DIRECTLY possible, as only one ticket office was open, everyone had to wait.
Only one toilet per sex was perceived, the changing table exclusively in the ladies toilet.
Let me be clear: Kufstein is really not a pretty city. If the fortress is neglected, who else should come?

Unverschämte Preisgestaltung für Behinderte. Habe Behindertenausweis mit B G100 vorgelegt . Aussage nur wenn sie im Rollstuhl sitzen, gibt es für sie eine Ermäßigung. Da sollte sich die Kufsteiner Verwaltung mal ein Beispiel am Rest Europas nehmen. War gerade in Italien auf Sizilien überall wurde der Ausweis respektiert für meine Frau als Begleitperson war der Eintritt frei für mich gab es überall entweder eine Ermässigung meistens aber sogar auch freien Eintritt.

Visited with my 2 boys. We were interested before we entered. Such an Impressive fortress. You enter through the shop and take the cable car to the fortress itself. Kids loved this! Then the visit all around the fortress which was extremely well signposted in English too. The views were incredible. Every exhibit in every room was so well presented and informative. Restaurant on site with reasonable prices. 2 sets of toilets top and bottom of the fortress. If it's a warm day then be sure the take the tunnel under the fortress which was originally used as a secret way to get from one side to the other. Super cool.

Super spot to visit from the elevator up to the gory torture exhibits then the nicely laid out shop at the end. Massive organ & the canon collection and stories of the prisoners of old are fascinating. A must see spot if you are in Kufstein.

Wonderful little town. The castle with worlds largest outside organ very interesting. Listen to the organ music in the afternoon. Many nice restaurants, lots of nearby hiking.

The old city is a bit disappointing, it is actually only 1 street. Beautiful half-timbered houses. We didn't go to the castle because it was gray and cloudy.

There is an audio tour that you can download and do your own guided tour. It was a bit long in places for me, but then you can just skip to the next bit. I can't remember if they did tours led by a human guide or not. Sorry.
