An interesting cave with amazing views of the landscape. But dont drive up. We tried it and I am very thankful that we did not meet any on coming trafic on the road up. Because there was no were to let each other pass. Leave the car at the buttom of the hill and walk the last 1,5-2 km up and enjoy the trip.

Type in this cave into maps and it will take you right to the gravel road which begins your hike. The way there will involve driving up a mountain and going through a small mountain village with cobblestone, narrow streets. It was about a thirty minute drive from Delphi. The gravel road is about 1.5 miles and is what you will walk on to the cave. No danger. Bring a headlamp to see better in the cave. There are bats of course. We were the only ones in the cave! It is worth the trip! You also can hike from Delphi to this cave but it is a 11 mile hike with 3000 feet of climbing. Both of these routes can be found on All Trails app. We were hiking Mt. Olympus the next day so chose the shorter route.

It was a bit tricky to find the trailhead but well worth it!
A beautiful hike in the forest and you end up at a secret cave with a lot of Ancient Greek history. It’s supposedly where Zeus was kept by a monster and is also the gateway to the underworld.
Park in the Snow Hill ski rental shop, cross the street and the trail starts there. It’s a fire road for about 15 minutes, then you veer right uphill for about an hour (you will see a sign in Greek for the cave). There are just two small signs indicating that the corycian cave is ahead.
It’s a steady uphill incline to the cave for about an hour with some shade (at least in the spring). Wear sunscreen! My arm got burned in March.
We took our two young kids - it’s a moderate hike (all uphill the entire time on the trail). We are used to weekly hiking so it was not bad but someone with kids who never walk or hike would have difficulty.
The views of Mt Parnassus are stunning. Moss lined rock walls, etc. The cave was really mystical and magical. Only two people were in there when we were there. Bring headlights and wear hiking shoes since it is very slippery.

Ενδιαφέρουσα εμπειρία!! Μετά από μια υπέροχη διαδρομή βρεθήκαμε στο σπήλαιο όπου και θαυμάσαμε τα φυσικά γλυπτά που έχουν σχηματιστεί από τους σταλακτίτες και τους σταλαγμίτες.

Really great cave (mildly creepy) and beautiful walk to it from the road (mild uphill). The hike to delphi though is LONG - 15km with a lot of brambles that are hard to walk through as paths are often tiny, no water available anywhere (luckily we found a broken hose 4km after we'd run out). The views are beautiful but I HIGHLY recommend only doing this hike if you are a decent hiker with good shoes, because the path isn't a path but a lot of rock and gravel (slippy), its also fairly step and LONG. Also there's barely any shade so you will get a lot of sun. I would recommend walking up a bit from town for the views and then coming back down and taxiing to the cave and back to the cave and doing the shorter hill walk.

located on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, just 90 minutes from our hotel away . In the mythology of the area, it is named after the nymph Corycia; however, its name etymologically derives from korykos, Offers marvelous views to Livadi valley and from there starts the hike E4 downhill to Delphi!

Wunderschöne Wanderung! Wir hatten das Auto am Ortsrand von Livadi geparkt, dort waren die Höhlen auch ausgeschildert. Ich würde nicht mit dem Auto hochfahren, da die Wege teilweise doch recht unterspült waren.
Aber für eine einfache Wanderung war es phantastisch schön, wir sind zur Höhle ca. 90 Minuten gelaufen. Oben hat man dann wundeschöne Ausblicke und auch die Höhle ist sehr beeindruckend!

Ένα σπήλαιο σε υψόμετρο 1400 μέτρων και τόσο εύκολα προσβάσιμο, πιστεύω πώς είναι μια πολύ καλή εκπαιδευτή εκδρομή και για τα παιδιά και για εμάς τους ενήλικες για μια πρώτη επαφή με την ιστορία και μυθολογία!

Πανεμορφο τοπίο, εξαιρετική θέα!!!
Μέχρι κάποιο σημείο οδικώς και έπειτα πεζοπορία ως την σπηλιά.

We're a small group interested in hiking from the Corycian Cave down into Delphi via the "Ancient Path". I understand this is approx a 5mile hike & part of the E4 trail. Is it well marked? We're having trouble finding a guide, but do we really need one? We will be dropped at the plateau for the Cave then make our way down into Delphi. Would love tips from anyone who has done this hike.

Hi, you will need to get information, maybe a map and plenty of water but it will take you at least 4 hours of hiking from Delphi to the cave (18 kilometers). I recommend you to start your journey from Arachova in this case. Enjoy your trip!
