My son, aged 3 and I love it. The staff clearly love what they do and are just as enthusiastic as the passengers. At £1.50 a ride per person I think it's excellent value for a really memorable experience. They operate different engines on different days so it's always worth going back. The smell, the sound and the look of the trains all add to the experience!

Hidden gem, had no idea it was there. A really enjoyable and good value ride, which passes through a tunnel and over a bridge. Our 2 year old went on twice and didn't want to leave. To make a day of it, the garden centre it is situated in is massive and has a cafe. We went to the sandpit in ware afterwards.

WOW!
I have been to Van Hague’s hundreds of times and didn’t know this was there.
Amazing value at £1 per passenger, we had two laps of a decent length track, probably a 5 minute ride all told.
Real life announcements at the station which has been beautifully created.
My grandchildren will be regular visitors now I know it’s there.
Congratulations to all the volunteers.

My great niece who is 2 years old her Mum and myself had a wonderful adventure on this delightful miniature railway,wow well worth £1 each we saw all kinds of animals ( ornaments) we went over a bridge in a tunnel (we screamed as we did as it was exciting ) just wonderful in fact we enjoyed it that much we went around 3 times! All happy happy memories for my great niece.
The staff are really really friendly and there was a fantastic calm fun atmosphere

I admit to being a fan of railways, and a visit to the Van Hage garden centre is not really complete without a ride on the train - and at only £1 per person, what's to grumble about? A good selection of locos, and a reasonable run for the money makes it good value and fun - even my 13 year old who didn't really want to ride actually enjoyed it!

It's the 40th anniversary of the East Herts Miniature Railway and I would recommend paying a visit.
It's only £1 per person to have a ride on one of their trains and you get to do two circuits of the garden taking in different sights on your journey round.
Long may it continue for a further 40 years!

What a place. So much fun to visit. Great value at £1 a ride. Lovely volunteers, very friendly and helpful.
On-site food is from the Garden Centre cafe, so not cheap. Local pubs nearby. Served by bus inc Sundays.
